You're not entirely wrong. :p

I must have been about 10 when I saw it for the first time, so it seemed awesome to me. Really enjoyed Attack of the Clones too and I didn't see much wrong with Revenge of the Sith.

Yes but he was like 7 years old, Keanu Reeves is what 40 with 20 acting years experience!

XD

10, 13 then Sith was not that bad

That explains it

Watch them again then watch the originals afterwards

May have been younger than 10 for Phantom actually. But I don't think I saw it when it first came out, whereas I saw Clones and Sith in the cinema.

I just find it hard to see how Keanu reeves's acting is wooden. Have you seen the Bill & Ted films, Parenthood, The gift and A scanner darkley? He aint wooden in any of them and if he seems wooden in Point break, Speed and The matrix films, i just don't see what is wrong with that because you don't really want an action hero to be Shakespearean.

Its not just me that thinks Reeves is wooden and refers to him as 'The Plank mate' : ).

To be fair he does try, but he is just not very good at it IMO. when ever he does try, it's just not convincing at all.

I don't overly dislike the guy, I quite like him in some films (Bill and ted is Awesome) but id personally never pick him to be in a film. For me he is 'Movie Star' not an 'Actor'

Your right we don't need 'Thespian' to play the lead in say Speed, but just someone more convincing, someone I can get behind. I just never believe it with Reeves.

Talking about Shakespearean, did you see him in Midsummer Nights?

Ouch

Right for any Star Wars Talk please go to the Star Wars Thread, no..... I mean it please go there, I'm on my own and its starting to look desperate.

I don't remember Keanu being in a Comic book movie.

He could have played Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy I suppose?

I would not want anyone else playing Johnny Utah however

Just have to agree to disagree on Reeves then ; )

Who else would you have cast as officer Jack traven in Speed instead then?

Cam

"I would not want anyone else playing Johnny utah however"

No such luck there mate, because they are remaking it and allegedly they are going to cast an actor from Home & Away as Johnny utah : (

He played him fine mate, but the role didn't really call for a huge emotional range to be fair did it. Although the bit that sticks in my mind is when he finds out Jeff Daniels has died and he starts shouting etc.

This scene IMO just doesn't even compare to (now you may give me crap for this comparison as im obviously a fan) Kiefer Sutherlands Jack Bauer thinks his daughter has been killed in season 1 of 24. The raw anger and emotion he displays is 10 times more convincing.

That's just my opion and the it's first example of an action star showing emotion that moved me, that comes to mind.

Like I said I like the guy, but even you must have heard the jokes made when Keanu was reported to play an Alien that doesn't show emotion in that TDTESS remake ; )

The Point Break remake is yet another travesty.

They've got Gerard Butler taking over Patrick Swayze's role and Ray Winstone taking over Gary Busey's role and, as Kev says, some Home & Away guy taking over Keanu's role... It's even being written by the guy who wrote the Total recall remake which just shows how Hollywood really is all out of ideas!

Noooooo as much crap as I give KR, Point Break was great action film and can not be improved by a remake.

Pointless !

To be fair to Keanu, he couldn't have broken down in tears like kiefer in 24, because it would of slowed the story right down and the bus would most probably of blown up there and then and unlike Speed, 24 is a tv series that allowed for such a scene but i still get what you are saying about Kiefer and yeah he did do well in showing such emotion for a character like Jack bauer(inspiration for your username?).

As a Keanu fan even i admit that was a bad decision in regards to TDTESS on his and the filmmakers part.
