2.0 out of 5 stars Get a move on. 20 Dec 2011
By Rooksby
Format:Audio CD
A pretty poor mix in my opinion. The Visionquest bunch have had an unattractive fashionista element about them from the off - their audience is interested as much in the £60 shirt Seth or Ryan are likely to be wearing as the tunes they might line up. Their Fabric mix confirms all my worst fears - an aimless, lumbering slog through a poorly sequenced succession of their own (& their mates') productions, alongside a number of "improved" (i.e. completely ruined) remixes of some terrific older tunes. No drive, no funk, no nowt. In a year's time they'll be as big an embarrassment as the godawful Swedish House Mafia & you'll be hiding this CD at the back of your collection. Zzzzz.

2.0 out of 5 stars - B - O - R - I - N - G - 20 Dec 2011
Format:Audio CD
I LOVED the minimal House, Tech-House and Techno scene and have bought a lot of vinyl and CD.
Fabric has brought out a few good Minimal mixes but this isn't one of them I'm affraid. Faric has been really stuck the the minimal scene and has also produced a lot of sub standard CD's and I know as I have been collecting them since 2003/4.
What thislacks is any good highlight tracks or theme, it is just slow and goes nowhere!

I have been checking out next months Fabriclive 61 mix by Pinch and it looks good so lets slide this one in order with the othe 80 plus Fabric cd's and wait for next months!

This mix combines quality house & techno and showcases the talent which Visionquest has to offer. Highly recommended to those wanting the finer things in life.

5.0 out of 5 stars exelent 4 April 2012

this album is not hectic its nice chilled out tech house with a techno influence if you like your music real deep like me then you will love this album, oh and theres some nice vocals thrown in there to. i think the above comment may of been written by an old trance fan thats still stuck in the past ... ie not happy unless theres a piano in there but, never the less.

to summarize this is a mix of deep minimal tech house that is worth £5.99 of anyones money ( i love it )

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the cheesy name fool you.... 29 Jan 2013

...this one is HOT.

Sometimes 4 heads are better than one. Visionquest is carrying the torch of "tha neu sound."

Seth Troxler and crew lay down a SOLID mix which I would easily give five stars on track selection alone, the influences are deep and the range is wide. The problem here is... does this release REALLY deserve a marketed package? I personally don't think so.

The mix is raw, analog-ish, live (which I love), but with such lower quality mixing (by 2013 commercial releases standards), this should have been released as an mp3 download for a much lower price. The way I see it, if FOUR guys get together in the studio to put out a compilation for FABRIC, then I want a masterpiece. Anything less is a straight disss to fans of proper dance music :/
