5.0 out of 5 stars dave clarke ,older and wiser 25 Oct 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
from the onset i was surprised. expecting the beloved banging techno of yore,i was turned on by a delectable cacophony of soothing electro. as i listened i was whisked away into a relatively down tempo world of the kind of techno/electro you have wet dreams about. how many times i had said to myself "this would be great if...." about electro mixes of an inferior variety.this is the "if...". really love it.well done to THE BARON OF TECHNO.

4.0 out of 5 stars a must-have for fans 24 Nov 2011

A typical Dave Clarke compilation where one encounters dominating baselines, distorted vocals and deep underground detroit sounds.
one more great release from Fabric coming in the typical tin case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful 26 Oct 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is an album of the highest quality, with its mixture of electro beats and some down tempo techno. This is right up my alley. The thing I've always loved about DC is that he is always looking to the future, maybe that's why he has been around for so long and remained at the top. If he was still producing the same sort of music that he was making in the 90's (as one reviewer mentioned), as good as it was, then would he still be around? I doubt it. This is top stuff!

Interesting mix here for Fabric60, if you are looking forward to hard edged techno in a unrelenting style then your in the wrong place! Try world series 1 & 2, but wait world series had 2 discs on each of them. 1st being hard not particularly well mixed techno straight in your face from the onset that was unrelenting until the end (bloody great too) and the 2nd was an electro mix much more down tempo (fun but not my fav style in the world of EDM). The point of my discussion about the world series discs is that Dave Clarke has previous for mixing Electro and down tempo Techno, so this Fabric mix comes as no great surprise. That said if you are talking about the mix on its own merits its dark and funky but ultimately goes nowhere. Was i disappointed? YES! Fabric in my opinion show cases the best djs from around the globe and gives them a platform to spin there chosen style of tracks, Dave Clarke has spent his career playing Hard Techno and this was an opportunity to get it to the masse. That said its by no means a poor effort and I will play it from time to time and as a previous reviewer stated times and styles move on, So does Dave Clarke!

Want Techno as it should be? Robert Hood Fabric39

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very good at all...... 22 Oct 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I was looking forward to hearing what Dave Clarke is up to now as I have Archive One this is one of his first techno albums, Archive One has some amazing tunes from my era of techno such as; Thunder, Wisdom To The Wise and Southside........this is the techno I know and like so when I put Fabric 60 on I was very disappointed to say the least. My techno era is 1990 to 1998 after that the techno scene went completely down hill and has limped on ever since and certainly HAS NOT recovered. None of the tracks on this CD appealed to me in anyway so I won't be buying any more new techno I think I'll try tracking down music from my old techno tapes (Obsession, Dreamscape and Helter-skelter) and seeing if I can source the tracks individually on CD.
