5.0 out of 5 stars Superb 14 Oct 2012
Format:MP3 Download|Amazon Verified Purchase
Grows and grows with each listen, some really cracking tracks, perfect deep house/disco tempo but not pretentious. It takes me back to the fabric Swayzak mix in terms of vibe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shooting star for a reason 7 Dec 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great Mix by the new hero of house music. Overall mood is relaxed, ideal for listening in your living room while preparing for your night out or when coming home. Mostly vocal tracks with a touch of retro. There are 1 or 2 tracks that are a bit too disco-era for me but overall awesome stuff! Jones someone to watch out for!

3.0 out of 5 stars Lazy mixing 4 April 2013
By AvdW
Format:Audio CD
Decent track listing, however very lazy and uninspired mixing. Due to its somewhat half-hearted feel, feels out of place in the Fabric mix series.

i don,t like to be to negative about music but I have to disagree with the
other folks on this mix.Don't get me wrong I like Jamie Jones his GET LOST mix is very good and his album was outstanding this however is'nt it is poorly mixed and there is no flow the whole thing just feels halfhearted and I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to adding more jamie jones to my collection shame it was this

5.0 out of 5 stars Hits a nerve 24 Aug 2011
Format:Audio CD
Due to the sheer volume of new music I listen to each week it takes something special to catch my attention enough on the first listen to make me put it straight on again. The latest installment of the Fabric series is one such album which has made me do this. It is in fact, one of only three dance albums I have heard in the past 10 years which have caught my attention as such on first listen; the others were Movements by Booka Shade and the Glimmers Fabric Live album. Other albums have become great through repeat listens, but these three sets became classics (in my eyes) from first listen.

There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe how I feel about this record. Simply put, it is the best mix album of the year, the best since Timo Maas' Balanace last year, and it has certainly made its way into my top 10 mix albums of all time.

As a long time subscriber to FabricFirst, I own nearly all of the 120-odd Fabric releases. They tend to be very hit and miss in my opinion. For instance, I loved the recent Agoria mix but found the Craig Richards presents the Nothing special mix to be a bit blah. I didn't have any high hopes for this Jones set at all as I tend to dislike the style he usually plays. I found his recent Essential Mix and Transitions guest mix to be nothing special whatsoever. How suprised i was, therefore, when i popped this in the draw and liked what I heard. The highlight of the set are tracks from White Lions, Cajmere and Felix, but as an hour long set of music, this mix grooves and glides through electro pop, synth and 80's nonsense like nothing I have heard for a long time. It fits together like a well knitted jumper and each tune feels like a natural lead into the next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable mix. 22 Aug 2011
Format:Audio CD
By my own admission I'm no expert on the myriad genres of dance music, but the Fabric series of CDs very rarely disappoint me. Basically, if it moves my 'musical senses' then it's getting the thumbs up. This new one from Jamie Jones certainly does that and more.

The mix starts off on a straightforward Tech/House vibe with soulful vocals, and takes a trip through many loose tangents: Electroclash, disco, bass-driven techno and ending on the Depeche Mode referencing synthpop joy of Footprintz. Jones has given a lot of consideration to the track selection here, and forgiving a couple of ill-fitting transitions it flows fairly well. My one criticism is that it takes a couple of different directions which might ruin the flow a little, but the more listens and it makes more sense.

I'd actually recommend this to fans of the James Murphy & Pat Mahoney Fabriclive mix as there are a few similarities, although this one is a lot lighter on the disco vibe. A good mix to take with you on a road trip during the last days of summer.

5.0 out of 5 stars pure synthetizer !!! 29 Aug 2011
Format:Audio CD
It was very passionate about synth-pop overboard but Jamie Jones, a member of fabricfirst not bad given the gift, is mixed with elegance and subtlety, but every day I love electronics and its various genres and try to distinguish the genre that listen in order Fabric 59 is full of great themes ...
