Robot Wars - Radio Controlled Sir Killalot

Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Control the mother of all Robot Wars robots, with the Radio-controlled Sir Killalot. An absolutely superb reproduction of the robot star of the TV show, Sir Killalot lives up to his deadly reputation: with "snipping" pincers on one arm, glowing red eyes, an evil, aerodynamic mask and on the other arm, a lethal screwdriver-like weapon, he is enough to scare the living daylights out of any opponent.

Larger than any of the other robots Sir Killalot is a hefty adversary whose various spikes and spokes could definitely pose a threat. Fear not, however, a child's safety is never compromised: terrific detailing on the part of the manufacturers means Killalot looks deadly, but he is in fact perfectly safe. All edges and spikes are blunt plastic and rubber--paint and texture only indicate menace.

The radio-control unit is chunky enough for small fingers and the buttons and levers will withstand even the keenest of operators. The robot is surprisingly responsive, and moves left, right, backwards and forwards via the levers; the buttons on top of the unit will open and close his pincers and the buttons on the side of the unit, when pressed, will provide atmospheric background noise for the heat of the battle. The range for this robot is surprisingly good: around 10 to 15 metres during this test.

It should be noted that this robot, more than any of the others in the range, benefits from a smooth, rather than carpeted surface. If this is a gift, the giver should also be aware that the batteries require 15 hours of charging for first use. The packaging is such that it is possible to extract the charger and rechargeable batteries (both included) without too much effort or damage, and these could be charged and replaced before the robot is wrapped. A screwdriver is required to insert the batteries into their covered cavity, something children will need adult supervision for. Once up and running, Killalot has good stamina: after more than an hour of duelling for this test, he was still going strong. Full operating instructions are included.

This robot is not suitable for children under three years because of small parts, but to reach its full potential it probably needs an operator of around five or six years old. There's no upper age limit--adults will love Killalot as much as kids do.

Killalot looks fantastic, and can stand alone as well as working with one of the other robots in the range. Though his actions are not amazingly sophisticated, those he does work really well. This is an absolute dream of a toy for Robot Wars fans of any age. --Lucie Naylor

The mother of all robots is starting to pop up all around the uk! With his bone crushing pincers sir killalot would not give any of the other robots a chance! Also with his powerful background sound makes you think your playing robot wars! This is not just a toy for kids of 7 up adults and teens with love killalot. killalots spikes and bone crushing pincers are made out of rubber and plastic so your mum doesn't come home to find the place all smashed up! But don't let this put you off buying killalot or all of the other robot wars robots the parts look good and work good. If sir killalot is going to be a gift for a birthday or christmas then you might want start charging the batteries the night before because this is needed c for first use of killalot(This should take around 15 hours)charger and rechargeable batteries are both included thats also why the price of killalot is high! What ever robot wars robot you go for im sure your have fun but killalot looks to be the best of the three so is well worth the extra money!
