If you like fantasy, but set in the real world, if you like that warm feeling when the bad guy really gets what's coming to him, this a great book. A wonderful set of characters that really come alive. All the wit of Terry Pratchett, but with as much bite as Jaws. I don't know what this guy drinks, but mines a pint! Can't wait for the follow-up.

A thoroughly enjoyable read, with original concepts linking past and present, fact and fantasy.

Read and re-read by the whole family, from ageing father to 11 year old daughter. Recommended to all.

I really enjoyed Retribution, which was recommended to me by a number of people I know. Although it isn't usually the sort of book I would choose, I decided to give it a go based on what I had been told, and soon found it impossible to put down! A definite must read. I'll look forward to the sequel.
