Best R n B album of 2003, 10 Jul 2005
How refreshing for R Kelly to take a young star under his wing and NOT make the album mainly his prescence. He has made this record both credible for Nivea and moreover, the best RnB album of 2003. I can't think of a track I don't like. "Don't mess with my man" is a floor filler. As ridiculous as "Laundromat"'s lyrics are it's a damn good track. "21 reasons" is the best track by far. Keep up the good work Nivea, I am sure I speak for all of us when I say, "we want more"!!!

Love it, love it, love it!, 4 April 2005
Oh my god, this album is HOT! This could easily pass as an already established artist's album, not a debut because every song could be a hit. The album is a mix of up beat tunes to slow and heartfelt ballads, both of which are equally excellent and all make you want to sing along whilst bopping around in what you think is in time to the beat! I recommend this album to anyone who considers themself a RnB lover, especially the girlies who will know just where she's coming from on some of the tracks! Go buy it!!!

What can i say????, 11 Sep 2004
This may as well be a "Greatest Hits" package...it's that good. I totally agree with the other reviewers in the fact that it really is good from start to finish. "Problems" is such a tune, as is "Don't mess with my man". It's the album which i would imagine most young r'n'b singers would have liked to have made. If u like Ashanti, or Christina Milian you will soon be putting this on the top of your pile..and rightly so.

Highly reccomended!, 25 Mar 2004
Nivea is one of those rare albums where you can listen to all the songs from it. She excels in both up-tempo tracks (such as 'just in case' & The Neptunes produced 'runaway') and slower ballads ('25 reasons'). The thing I like most is that she has created her own unique sound without becoming repetitive or boring and her album should appeal to pop, r'n'b & hip-hop fans alike. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth buying.

a top drawer album, 2 Mar 2003
This album is a rare thing - an R n B album that you can play from beginning to end without skipping tracks. It's pure class the whole way through - from the space age funk of "ya ya ya", to the good time party groove of "don't mess with my man" to the gospel tinged "25 reasons". This is pure R n B - no compromise (no rock or pop - unlike Toni Braxton's latest) - this is just crystallised, uncut cutting edge R n B. The album cover, showing Nivea candy-sweet in a fake fur jacket backed by a wall of purple gems is so gorgeously stylised and just the right side of tacky - pure R n B. Although soul purists may prefer the "new soul" artists like Eryka and D'Angelo and would probably eschew artists like Nivea as being a bit too cheesy - remember - this is the sound of NOW and twenty years later "new soul" artists will be harking back to the sound of producers like the Neptunes. Actually there's plenty of classy tunes here to satisfy the more "mature" soul purist - the gorgeous "25 reasons" and the Dungeon Family produced "Don't mess with the radio" make this album a cut above the rest. Best R n B album of the year so far. And the best looking!

Sassy & Soothing, 13 Feb 2003
This is the debut album from Nivea and as usual features the funky up-tempo songs mixed in with the soulful ballads and it works well. One of the head nodders is Ya Ya Ya which apart from the inane title is good although as expected from Lil’ Wayne the rap is pretty uninspiring. Others include Pusha T from the Clipse and Mystikal. The first single was Mess with my Man which had a decent beat with a guest vocal from Jagged Edge. However what makes this album good is the soothing ballads such as 25 reasons. If you’re tired of hearing the over played Ashanti and the publicity seeking Christina then pick this unknown (in the U.K.) slice of R&B from the U.S.
