A deeply inspiring book. Not only has David Jones led a fascinating business life, but his own personal struggle with this horrible disease is remarkable. I cannot rate this book highly enough.

I am an avid reader of fiction and very rarely delve into non-fiction. This is the first non-fiction book I have been unable to put down. I have just read the whole thing in one day. Half on the train down to London from Leeds this morning and the other half on the train home. (I am fortunate enought to be a speed reader - you get a lot of book for your money).
It is written in a very simple to read style with no pretentions or flourishes. The story is split into well defined sections which flow really well and the whole tale doens't jump about too much.
The content could be termed a digest MBA. Read, learn and follow the rules and you won't go far wrong in business!
It leaves you with the feeling that you have read the truth.
I would recommended this book to anyone interested in retail, anyone interested in Parkinsons, and anyone wanting a really good read!

I recently was given this book as a holiday read and it lived up and exceeded my expectatations. Anyone who has watched the progress made by Next plc over the past 20 years under David's leadership and who is nosey enough to want to know more should read this book. They will not be disappointed at reading the human side to the story and how one person has risen above the enormous challenge of his personal condition to conquer all. Well recommended.
