3CCD Camera System

At the heart of the camcorder is the 3CCD camera system - the type used in professional video cameras. Playing a critical role in picture quality, this system, which uses a separate CCD to process each of the three primary components of light provides exceptionally pure, faithful colour. Panasonic's advanced 3CCD system gives users greater beauty in three different ways: in colour, detail and gradation.

Crystal Engine

Furthermore, Panasonic's Crystal Engine advanced image-processing circuitry helps deliver maximum performance from the CCD camera system. The Crystal Engine processes the signal from each of the three CCDs independently, giving both moving and still pictures outstanding quality. The Crystal Engine digital signal processing LSI suppresses noise and enhances the resolution.

    I have this camera for about 6 months and is excellent.
    This is my first camcorder but i love it.
    Takes excellent video quality, easy to use, and quite small to always carry with you.
    The optical zoom is fantastic, and the picture quality with up to 20x digital zoom is very good as well.
    Nice and vibrant colours, no pixels whatsoever with optical zoom (mind you though need to use the right setting for the right moment).
    The only negative is the absence of flashlight and the battery wont last for more than 45mins, hence the 4 stars.
    I love this liitle gem though and very happy with it.
