I bought this to replace a previous Ricoh (which met an accident on the beach). I chose both on the basis of really good reviews, and also chose the second one on the good results seen with my first one.

However, I should have seen the warning signs with the first one - which had been repaired under warranty for an issue with a sticking telescopic lens housing.

The second one had to be repaired under warranty after the LCD display stopped working and, when it was sent back to me, was sent straight back to them as the lens cover was sticking open. It has now been repaired, but these frequent faults leave me questioning the build quality.

I still reckon the picture quality is great, and it is really easy to use.

What I like about this camera is the ability to adjust photos after I have taken them,like brightness,contrast and white balance,someting my other cameras can't do.And the photos are particularly sharp

I've really enjoyed using this camera. It's just about pocket sized so I take it pretty much everywhere with me and the results have been good. The excellent optical zoom lens makes it so much more useful than most small digital cameras.
I've found it can struggle in low light conditions and over-expose at times too. I've had to switch to manual control of the exposure fairly often. However for the price, I think it's a bargain.
