researched long and hard before buying this camera. have not been disappointed at all. fantastic macro lens, very high quality images and, so far, very reliable.

Ricoh R8 is excellent if you are looking for a small size quality camera for its reasonable price(I know many professional use this camera for their alternative of SLR (or Ricoh GR, Leica etc).

Photography novice like me can enjoy their easy to use functions, especially "macro" function (it also auto-focuses like good SLR).

I have used this camera for over 6months but never had any problem.

I have got a Ricoh GR digital. Size is great and quality of the pictures is great but it is unreliable and often breaks down. So I bought an R8 and one month in it just packed up too, refusing to open up. Before digital I had a Ricoh GR which was great. That is why I stuck with Ricoh, but now, reluctantly, I cannot afford to any longer. I need a camera for work and now I have two Ricohs at the menders.
