THE Optio E50 is a Fully equipped entry-level camera for free and easy photography

Simple operation is the core of the Optio E50. With its compact dimensions, ergonomically formed body design it is the ideal "go anywhere" camera. Technical characteristics are ideal for snapshots. The auto-picture mode automatically determines the best setting for the subject such as Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene. For "people shots" the camera automatically selects the best exposure settings and focusing and corrects backlighting as soon as the subject is targeted with the help of the autofocus frame

In order to minimize blurring caused by camera shake the Optio incorporates a digital "Shake Reduction" system that automatically increases sensitivity up to ISO 1600 so that faster shutter speeds can be used

With a resolution of 8.1 megapixels and a large 6 cm (2.4'') monitor the Pentax Optio E50 is thoroughly up-to-date. Two universally available AA batteries supply power for the camera. The improved energy efficiency of the Optio E50 ensures your free and easy photography can continue on and on worryfree

    This camera is a strightforward, no-nonsense model for someone who wants a quality digital camera for holidays, special occasions etc. It's really easy to set up and the resolution is good too. So far, so good!

    For just over a year I have owned a digital cammera, that I considered to be the doggies danglers of digital cameras, apart from it not taking kindly to being used as a football by 5 healthy kittens.

    I therefore was having to buy a replacement, which happened to be out of stock, so, I decided to buy the Optio E50, in the same price bracket as my damaged model. The published specifications are superior to the old model.

    It arrived 12 hrs ago. I've been told to put it away for the night, coz I'm acting just like a kid with a new toy, trying to get to grips with all the fascinating new concepts, i.e. Face recognition, Panoramic, I could go on, but you must see for yourself.

    I am going to enjoy photography much more than ever with my new acquisition. And so will you.

    I have been very pleased with this camera. Easy to use, nice clear preview screen, good quality pictures. For the price it is excellent.
