I chose this camera after several weeks of scouring the internet comparing the newest compact cameras. Bear in mind that my needs were for an easy to use, point and shoot camera.

Positives:
Very good picture quality both indoors and outdoors, a huge 3" screen which is easy to view even in sunny conditions, an appearance and feeling of quality from the brushed stainless steel casing, easy to navigate menu system, good battery life and a neat little dock station supplied with the camera. The zoom facility is smooth and easily controlable, and even when using the digital zoom, the results are usually spot-on.

Negatives:
It's easy to get finger marks on the large screen, but this is probably due to me being left-handed. Really a camera such as this should come with a memory card in the box, but this applies to most digital cameras, and the cost of memory falls almost daily. One thing you must buy though is a case - I imagine the screen could get scratched if it was hard against coins, keys etc in your pocket. A cheap leatherette case definitely should have been provided with the camera.

To sum up:
For me, this is a superb camera, the shortcomings really being in what isn't supplied in the box. A word of warning though, do check prices carefully, they can vary by over £150 between suppliers.....

This is a super little camera, with a large screen and fully flexible use in all modes from totally idiot-proof to fully manual. The large, bright screen is a joy to both take and view images on. Speed, which is often a problem with cameras in this range, is not a major issue.
However, do shop around as prices vary considerably!
