Third album from Argentinean former children's TV presenterand comedienne follows 2004's 'Tres Cosas'. Molina has won acclaim from many quarters for her unique style - breathy, acoustic Spanish folk subjected to heavy digital processing -and on 'Son' ("Sound") she turns in more of the same. This time, however, a lessening of the electronic elements gives the album a more organic feel, and the sound is somehow simultaneously more expansive and more intimate.

Juana Molina has been putting quiet Folktronica jewels for a while now. Not renouncing her Argentinean moods, Molina chooses here to explore wilder shores of Folk, somewhat reminiscent of Animal Colective o Devendra Banhart in subdue moments.

The atmospheres, although spare sonically, are still dense. Whispered rather than sung, these songs will seep into your body and, in some cases, even transport you.
