5.0 out of 5 stars Same features as SD 1GB Ultra - but PLUS the USB, 14 Feb 2006
By Mark Davidson "sugob" (London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Has all the benefits of the Sandisk 1GB SD Ultra [10MB/sec read, 9MB/sec write] plus it can snap in the middle [both parts stay attached] and plugs directly into USB socket of computer [Dell notebook in my case] for direct read/write - no problems as long as you put in in the right way up! No card reader required. Has worked well with digital camera Canon Ixus 700 as well as Palm T3. When split, the join doesn't look particularly strong, but I have had one of these since Jun 05 [bought in US] and so far so good.
Most people when they see it say "Cool, that's a good idea" & a bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Currently the best portable drive you can get!, 10 Aug 2006
By Conor Kerr (Belfast, Northern Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've had one of these since the week it came out in the UK and have no reservations in saying it's one of the best purchases I've ever made (even though, when I bought it, it was more than twice the price it is now!).

It feels fragile when folded for USB use but it's taken everything I have put it through, which is quite a lot!

I use it to transfer files from many PCs and Cameras to many others and it's never let me down, it fits fine in every USB slot I've tried and I always get great transfer speeds (about 7MB/sec).

I used to carry around a few CDs when out helping clients, now I just pop this little drive out of my phone's SD card slot (in which it provides plenty of storage for MP3s), fold it up and pop it into the client's computer. That's such a convenience that it has actually changed my life for the better slightly - isn't that a lot to say about something so unimportant! ;) Now I'm never without my "critical fixes" for all the "bad software" taking over Belfast's small businesses' PCs, and it doesn't even consume any space in my pocket!

Oh, and lots of people want one as soon as they see how handy it is... which, incidentally, is why I'm back on this site ordering another one (and putting in my first review while I'm at it!).

I can't wait until it comes in even larger capacities. To think other people still use USB sticks and floppies etc... if only they knew! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars GENIOUS!, 17 Mar 2006
By J. Brolly "Loving_IT" (Portrush, N. IRELAND) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I no longer need worry about having to carry around a bulky SD memory card reader with me... I just flip the card in half (exposing the USB contacts) and plug in (generally with contacts exposed face up) to a free usb port. They've even managed to squeeze on a memory access LED.
I use it in my Palm Tungsten T and Canon IXUS 40 with no problems.
AND it's the same price as a 'normal' SD card.
