From audio specialists IXOS come the DJ1001 Ministry of Sound headphones offering a professional listening experience and a solid no-nonsense design.

IXOS is an UK-based company that specialises in making high-quality audio cables. Using its audio expertise it teamed up with the Ministry of Sound to produce a full range of DJ headphones, but with enough breadth to satisfy you no matter what your needs.

The DJ1001 have been designed to be the ultimate in DJ cans. To kick things off the 50 mm drivers can pump out enough power to drown out anything, letting you hear exactly what's playing undistorted. You'll be able to happily crank up the output, as the headphones are rated to take 3,000 MW as well as having additional speaker protection. Tech wise the drivers have a response from 28 KHz down to a respectable 10 Hz and will produce 107 db/mw. It has 64 ohm impedance, comes with a fixed three metre coiled cable with a 3.5 mm gold plated jack and screw-on 6.3 mm adapter, as well as a handy headphone mounted mono/stereo switch.

In use the headphones produce sound that's as sweet as a nut, though for casual listening the bass isn't as warm as other headphones, but it is perfectly defined. Almost important as the sound is the build. The cans (which can be rotated) are lightweight and reversible, and the adjustable strap clamps the headphones firmly to your head, while remaining comfortable to wear for long periods. --Nick Baxter

I got these headphones about a week ago and they are without a dought the best dj headphones on the market. I have been playing for a few years now and have tried many high quality headphones. The headphones that come the closest to the ministry of sound dj1001s are of course the sony mdr-v700`s. they are great headphones as well, but put out allittle too much high end which can really get to you after a few hours of spinning. The mos offer a bit more comfort in my opinion as well though they do cost allittle more too.
