This is an awesome cd...i'm listening to the epic title track as i write this review and i have to disagree with one of the other reviews on here of this album i think this is one of jarres' best works we start with calypso part one a good summer vibe to it nice uptempo number a feel good track the onto part two a little more down beat but still enjoyable and then part three a beautiful piece of music and finally the title track all 46 mins of it what can i say chilled out perfect sunset music for those lazy summer evenings it just takes you away and is haunting with it.Buy this cd now...

Sadly this is one of Jean Michel Jarre's most overlooked albums, which is a shame as it's bold, bombastic and really rather superb.

Forever associated with his most spectacular concert, "Paris La Defense", the three Calypso tracks are incredibly well produced, even if the first of them is a bit OTT! If you like steel band music, then this album will be of significant interest to you.

The 46 minute long (on CD) title track is a real listening experience, and is ambient music at it's very best.

I totally agree with the previous revues with regard to the title track. This is a magnificent piece of ambient music worthy to be placed along-side that of Brian Eno. (Praise indeed!)

If you buy the album for no other reason, buy it for the title track, and, being a Jarre fan, I am finding this very hard to say, there ARE few other reasons in my opinion for buying this album.

If you loved the slow, dreamy, emotional parts of Oxygene and Equinoxe, buy this album for "Waiting for Cousteau", if nothing else. You will find yourself surrounded by crystal-clear water, the sunlight playing on it's surface, and you will experience the fascination that Cousteau must have experienced a hundred times over. The images this music portrays are (in my opinion) pretty much perfect.

Close your eyes and drift away....!
