Book Description

Tenerife road map at 1:100,000 scale with large scale street plans of all the main resorts on the reverse. Authors’ are resident on Tenerife and make sure that this map and its street plans are fully up-to-date. Map includes full Place Name Index and Distance Chart, and the map is GPS compatible with 5 kilometre grid.

The Indestructible Map Company Ltd give an amazing "Guaranteed for Life" warranty with this map. Printed on a special plastic substrate using special inks which acheive 100% oxygenation, the resulting map is both light and incredibly strong, so strong that it is "Guaranteed for Life" in normal use.

Petrol Stations, Out-of-Town Hypermarkets and Roadside Tipico refreshment stops are included along with highly detailed Street Plans of Playa las Americas (with Costa Adeje and Playa Fanabe), Los Cristianos, Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf, Costa del Silencio, Los Gigantes (with Puerto Santiago and Playa la Arena), Puerto de la Cruz and central Santa Cruz.

Excellent map of the island although some of the road numbers have changed since the map was printed (2002).

The map lived up to its claim of being Indestructible, whilst we were driving my friend openned the door window and the map (which was on top of the dashboard at the time) disappeared out the window at an almighty speed. I was able to stop the car and retrieve the map which to my suprise did not blow away but was lying at the side of the road unscathed.. :-)

As soon as you get it you will try to tear it (ever so gently near one of the corners). It's ok though, it won't tear - stretch and distort slightly (depending upon how hard you try), but not tear. As for the information, it's relatively up-to-date and I found it very easy to follow and can say that it is pretty accurate. I rate this at a 4 purely because I have used OS 1:50,000 all my life - you can't get better than that. If you want to do some 'tourist stuff' in Tenerife then this is the map for you. It also doubles up as a handy table-cloth, picnic 'blanket' and sun hat!
