The specially commissioned photographs are accompanied by a history of each theatre's evolving architectural style and changing role through the centuries. About the Author
Mike Kilburn was formerly English Heritage's Inspector of Historic Buildings for the London region, during which time he gained intimate knowledge of numerous London Theatres. Now a full-time writer, he is author of many other titles on London. Alberto Arzoz specializes in architectural and cultural subjects from around the world, working with newspapers, magazines and publishers. His work has been exhibited in New York and London and regularly appears in publications such as World Architecture, Marie Claire, The Guardian and The Times.
