5.0 out of 5 stars Buy!, 6 April 2009
This writer's series of books is a joy, not only to learn the secrets of telling a good yarn, but most surprisingly also doubles as an excellent guide to understanding a lot about human nature. As with every book in this series (and I've got them all) the author's text is so easy to follow, and every point is illustrated with examples and very easy to understand. No way could these works be described as long winded or boring, in fact like any good story, they are very hard to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth its value, 12 Oct 2009
I found the reading very interesting. Though some parts tell nothing new (which doesn't make them rubbish, anyway), others are well dealt with and help understanding the role of description and setting, always with practical advice that make the book easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real writing help, 6 Jul 2009
By Elisabeth T. (Oxford, UK.) - See all my reviews
I found this the most useful and practical book on fiction writing I've read - and I've read a fair few. His examples are telling, he breaks his subject matter into digestible and often amusing chunks, and he inspires you to have a go yourself rather than be a passive reader.
