First Sentence
In The Elliot Wave Principle - A Critical Appraisal, Hamilton Bolton made this opening statement: As we have advanced through some of the most unpredictable economic climate imaginable, covering depression, major war, and postwar reconstruction and boom, I have noted how well Elliott's Wave Principle has fitted into the facts of life as they have developed, and have accordingly gained more confidence that this Principle has a good quotient of basic value. Read the first page

4.0 out of 5 stars Elliott Wave Principle, 4 Aug 2003
By A Customer
To most EWT traders I know this is the most important read on the subject.

What people need to be aware of is the complexity of the subject, EWT is not a subject for beginners or passing traders looking for a system that they can get into within 4 weeks and trade with from that point on.

Whilst the book is not written in an easy to follow fashion, choice of words and sentence structure are unusual to say the least, the authors deliver a very full and complete study of a complex subject.

I have a number of books on the subject and whilst I would not say this is the easiest read, for the serious trader, who wants to apply EWT to their TA tool kit, and who wanst to learn the rules and guidelines properly, this is the only book required.

The edition is out of date and with it most of the projections however I know many EWT traders who are very successful from using this book as their start point for the subject.

1.0 out of 5 stars Elliott Wave Principal is an unwelcome addition., 25 Oct 1998
By A Customer
The Elliott Wave Principal offers the reader an unclear understanding of the multitude of wave cycles, an unclear application to making investment decisions while it's anniversary addition offers charts with the most recent dated 1982. Clearly, it was a mistake to offer this book to investors and any readers other than theorists who might thrive on an unnecessarily complicated outdated presentation of a system and theory plus out of date documentation with no application to the present. The serious investor is wasting his time with this text. Respectfully, Mark L. Fideler

3.0 out of 5 stars Up to date Principle - Out of date projections, 21 Aug 1999
By A Customer
It is a well and systematically written book that leads you through quite complex ideas of Elliott Principle. However forecasts that are completely out of date and proved unsuccessful in the past coupled with a lack of up to date examples are important disadvantages. Personally I think it was the author's mistake to mix the Elliott Principle with his own projections ...
