Product Description

This text includes recent developments in four-stroke technology. It outlines simple and inexpensive tuning modifications for road and occasional club competition engines, with an emphasis on economy and useable street power. This text also describes how modern engines can be modified for performance with cam, exhaust and carburation changes - and still pass emission inspections, and it explains how electronic controls and emission controls work. Graham Bell has also written "Two-Stroke Performance Tuning" and "Four-Stroke Performance Tuning".

5.0 out of 5 stars Put boy racer adverts in their place, 23 Aug 1999
By A Customer
An excellent book for then enthusiast and begginer alike. Each chapter summerises the functions and basic workings of each main engine system, followed by the effects of tuning each component for performance/economy, and the results from getting it correct. Once you have read this book, you'll never look so blindly at 'performance part' claims of extra BHP. Don't touch your road racer without having read this book.
