It was seriously disappointing to discover that the song "Ying Tong Iddle-i-po", despite being prominent on the CD cover, is NOT in this collection! The four shows in this double CD set are great fun, but I selected it because of that song title on the cover. How can a producer allow this to happen? So, five stars for the Goons themselves, minus two for the production blunder.

The crazy Goons. Bluebottle, Seagoon, Jim "le steam nuts" Moriarty, and all the rest. It's amazing how something from the 50's can still be funny in the new millenium. The Goons were the original in alternative comedy, with such memorable eppisodes as "The phantom punch up the conker" and "The sinking of westminster pier." Absolute classic goonery. "Ying-tong iddle i po, alls well that ends well and this is wallace greenslade wishing he were dead." BANG! OWW!! "wish granted"

The CD reviewed here was of an excellent calibre, bringing to life again the Tom-Goonery of years gone by in a four part gag-fest for the ages. The charachters brought to life in these shows are masterfully created by those sons of fun Sellers, Secombe and Milligna, the well known typing error. The charachters and scripts engendered by Spike create a masterfully visionary setting, taking the mind on an eyes closed seat of the pants journey through Goonland. I rate 4 stars only because I am sure the goons will top this in future releases.
