This is a "first person" indie horror film from Israel, by the writer-director brothers, Doran and Yoav Paz. Though it is low budget it has high production values, and some very nice ideas though it does take too long to get going.

Two "American" girls Sarah (Dannielle Jadelyn) and Rachel (Yael Grobglas) set off for a holiday in Israel and end up in Jerusalem. Bad things suddenly happen and they need to escape the Old City. Talk about holiday from Hell!

Sarah has been given a pair of smart glasses by her dad ahead of the trip, and it is through her glasses that we see events unfold.

I thought the use of prescription "smart glasses" in place of the wonky camcorder was a clever touch, not only because it avoids the (unlikely) idea of someone carrying a recorder when in mortal danger, but also because the directors were able go weave the tech into the script (voice and facial recognition features, etc). (Although, given where they end up at the end of the film, I'm not sure you could call this a "found footage" film!). It is very well made, with very high production values. The unusual city location works very well with the plot theme. It looks beautiful and makes you want to visit.

The biggest issue for me is that it takes far too long for the action to start and when it does, we get the two, rather silly stereotypical characters, Sarah and Rachel, running about and doing and saying stupid things. This is where the film really loses out for me; the characterisation of the two central figures. I didn't feel any connection to either, and Sarah (the one with the smart glasses) was just annoying, spending most of the film either whining, crying or saying; "oh my god, oh my god"....Read more ›

It has been a year since the death of Sarah Pullman's (Danielle Jadelyn) brother( Steven Hilder). To help her get over it, dad (Howard Rypp ) pays for a trip for her and her better looking BFF Rachel Klein (Yael Grobglas) to travel to Israel. On the plane they meet Kevin Reed (Yon Tumarkin) a young "Indian Jones" whose interest is religious lore on ancient zombies.

They go to Jerusalem and not since World War Z has Jerusalem been annoyed by so many zombies. The difference is that these are Nephilm and dark angels with wings.

The premise was okay. Instead of the hand held camera we have graduated to Google glass or something similar. This has facial recognition and we know exactly where that was going. It also has GPS map etc. It didn't prevent the stupid ground cam or shoe cam. The jerking was less, but was still there. We added random cute cat films.

The film opens with a film and narration by a guy with an accent, which didn't make it seem any more real.

As always, would have been better with a real camera.

I really do not know where to begin with this one, I honestly can't remember a film where I have face palmed myself so much.

After a short scene setting up the films storyline, we are introduced to a young women getting a pair of high tech google glasses for her birthday, these allow her to film everything she sees, the rest of the film is then told through the viewpoint of these glasses.

Anyway, she jets off on holiday with her tarty friend to Israel of all places.and on the plane some random horny guy starts flirting with them and asks them to abandon thier holiday plans and go to Jerusalem where he's going. So, being a pair of completely sensible American women, they do just that (really?)
They end up at a muslim hotel where one of the owners (a very creepy, slimy young muslim guy) takes a shine to one of the girls, passing comments like "you're a pretty lady" and "you are very sexy, you should come out with me" and so naturally, this woos her and the 4 then go out, have sex, get drunk, talk and talk and talk some more, (sigh) you get the picture, it's been done to death. Cue lots and lots or drawn out movie padding and completely stupid far fetched actions, that even the dumbest of planet Earth's women wouldn't do.

By this time I had face palmed myself about 20 times already and had a bright red mark on my forehead, this was to turn into a huge bruise by the time the film finished.

Anyhow, fast forward 47 minutes (Yes 47 whole minutes of watching these 4 chumps talk and drink and dance and talk some more) and we finally get something of interest that happens.
The guy from the plane has some sort of mental breakdown and is carted off to the local mental asylum.Read more ›
