i had to get the scarlet box at a hundred plus quid before the price went higher lol.
It is a very beautiful looking set and a must have for all fans and collector's everywhere! And it will look nice on my shelf with my other collector's items!
It genuinely is the gift that keeps on giving with the 200 page book and a double sided poster and everything else that someone else would've talked about on their review!
(And as I'm new at reviews I'm going at my own pace lol).
But i only gave it 4 stars out of 5 because of things like Arrow Videos making this a limited edition so the price doubled!

And Arrow Videos always seem to have problems with the grain on their releases of old films!
It's a shame that Scream Factory couldn't have released this set as I'm sure they would've fixed the messy looking bits!
But it's a beautiful looking set all the same and i can't complain too much as i got this in the end (even if i did pay double what it was originally worth)

Hellraiser: The Scarlet Box Limited Edition Trilogy
Blu-ray Review
Hellraiser: The Scarlet Box Limited Edition Trilogy 1987-1992 Directed by Clive Barker, Tony Randel, Anthony Hickox, Starring Doug Bradley, Andy Robinson, Ashley Laurence, Claire Higgins, Kenneth Cranham, Terry Farrell, Kevin Bernhardt. Arrow Blu-ray 4 Disc, Released on 26th October 2015.

Stephen King was once quoted as saying: “I have seen the future of horror… his name is Clive Barker.” The future became a reality when, in 1987, Barker unleashed his directorial début Hellraiser, launching a hit franchise and creating an instant horror icon in the formidable figure of Pinhead.

Arrow’s beautifully produced Hellraiser: The Scarlet Box, has arguably for the first time, been afforded the prestige it fully deserves. The collection works very nicely in deed, mainly because its focus revolves around creator Clive Barker’s involvement in the franchise. Whilst Barker had a small interest in the fourth instalment Hellraiser IV: Bloodline, it would be the last in which he would have any official involvement.
Fans of the franchise will be all too familiar with the first three movies, which are by far the best of the series.
Barker’s original Hellraiser, based on his novella The Hellbound Heart, follows Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) as she comes head-to-head with the Cenobites, the demonic beings from another realm who are intent on reclaiming the soul of her deviant Uncle Frank.

Picking up immediately after the events of the original Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II finds Kirsty detained at a psychiatric institute and under the care of Phillip Channard, a doctor who abuses his position to realise his own dark aims.

For those fans who missed out buying this 4 Disc Scarlet box blu-ray set
and i'm one of those fans, cause this boxset is selling for over 150-200 now on ebay just for the boxset alone
which i believe is bullshit price i'm not paying that much for it
if amazon uk still had copies of it instock they will only be selling it for 40 or 50
so no need to get angry and pissed off thinking that's it, i'll never get a copy now
cause Arrow films have just announced they're reissung the first 3 Hellraiser films again on blu-ray
and will be releasing them to buy in January 2016
check for yourself on the Arrowfilms website
this new reissue only contains 3 Discs thou, does not have the Bonus 4th Disc
the 3 Discs have the exact same content and special features
and i am mean the exact same content as the 3 Discs in the scarlet boxset
the only Difference is there's no 4th Bonus Disc and the packaging has changed
the 3 Discs will have their own standard blu-ray case with own artwork
so for the fans stressing out trying to get over 200 together just to buy this scarlet boxset
it's probably best to wait til January and get the blu-ray case versions
which is the packaging i prefer, i don't like fold out case Digi-pak's
as i said the only Difference is the Bonus Disc, so your Decision
i'm happy just buying the first 3 films with new 2k HD transfers with all the special features that come with the Discs
so i'm going to wait to January myself.
5 stars for Arrowfilms who are reissuing the first 3 films on blu-ray again for the fans that missed out

This has to be one of the nicest sets anyone has every done. The package looks great, the digipaks the discs are in also look really good. In this set you get Hellraiser 1,2,3 a bonus 4th disc & a 200 page hardback book (4th disc & book exclusive to the LE set) all for a very low price (at least when it was available). The films themselves are great, especially the first 2 being excellent & the 3rd very good. Lots of bonus features here sure to please any big fan of the series such as myself, ive only just glanced at the book but that seems like a very worthwhile read as well. I wont get too much into the plot of them since that can be found in any number of places & chances are if you are on this page you already know about the films but in short opening a puzzle box summons demons who come to take you away & torture you for eternity. Now, I know some complain about how the films look but to me they look great & it seems like instead of watching & enjoying the movies, people watch them to lookout for errors to pick apart. I haven't seen all the extras yet but being a fan I cant wait until I can get into the rest of them. If you are a fan of Arrow Video releases or the Hellraiser series in general this boxset is a MUST own & is well worth it. If you cant get a copy of the LE set, Arrow is also releasing a regular boxset in Jan.

Edit: Ok, so ive finally gotten around to watching all the extras including disc 4. The 2 short films from Barker Salome & The Forbidden. Both are in black & white, no dialog. The Forbidden is the longer of the 2 but I enjoyed Salome a bit more. It had better atmosphere I feel. Theyre not films you will probably seen a bunch of times but are at least worth watching once if nothing else. Hellraiser: A Question of Faith was ok at best also.
