After the revelation that was "Ted", the sequel "Ted 2" carries on where the first left off. The majority of the cast from the original are back, all except for Mila Kunis. As a result, the storyline focuses more on Ted's life rather than John and Lori. It even included a few cameos from Tom Brady, Liam Neeson & Morgan Freeman.

The film is very funny, with plenty of laugh out loud moments, especially if you enjoy Seth MacFarlane's style of comedy such as Family Guy. I would definitely recommend it!

More fun with Ted and Johnny (Mark Wahlberg) that follows interestingly on from the first film: this one has a much more linear plot, and is less funny, perhaps, less a series of set pieces, and a bit more serious in its undertones (but not that much). It still feels pretty anarchic, flagging up racial equality and gay rights as a parallel to Ted's plight to be recognised as a human being and not just 'property', but at the same time having a running gag about black men and also a fairly unflattering portrait of two gay men. Its heart is in the right place, but without being hidebound by political correctness, in other words, it gets an intelligent balance. It is fairly stuffed with big names making cameos, while Wahlberg is as delightful as before, with a touch of the overgrown kid about him, who takes a sideways slice from the Starship Enterprise ... ; Amanda Seyfried plays the love interest with a legal mind, and Ted is brilliantly pitched by the co-writer and director Seth MacFarlane. The first one was just a bit crazier, but this is a very worthy sequel that moves into Galaxy Quest territory before coming back to Earth with some playful bending of the narrative of the first film as it bounces some of the same balls ...

By The Movie Guy TOP 500 REVIEWER on 5 July 2015

In this film Ted attempts to gain citizenship or person hood. He marries Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) and is represented by young attorney Sam L. Jackson (Amanda Seyfried) a person void of pop culture references.

The film was laugh out loud funny with many people in the theater roaring with laughter. There was not a dry eye in the house. Yes the film is crude and contain many F-bombs. However, I feel different about this film than the first. In "Ted" they were crude for the sake of being crude with the humor being secondary. In this feature they were crude for a good laugh. They didn't cross the line in this feature, although they hugged it a few times.

There were numerous appearances by celebrities, mostly playing themselves. I think the role of Morgan Freeman would have been funnier if Samuel L. Jackson had played the part. He could have worked in some of his famous lines. I am also disappointed that they did a comic-con convention and didn't have a funny cameo by Stan Lee. Liam Neeson, Tom Brady, and Jay Leno in funny cameos. Good one to watch with an adult crowd.

Guide: Plenty of swearing. Crude talk. No sex. Nudity? (Kayla Delehant?)

Sequels to hit comedies have always been problematic. They very rarely work but audiences keep returning in the hope of reaching the same highs and belly laughs as the original. On this front Ted 2 hasn't done too badly. True, it's still not up to scratch in comparison with the original but there are still some decent laughs and a very funny cameo from Liam Neeson (although not quite as funny as his legendary cameo in Life is Short). It falls down in the 2nd half where the laughs dry up a little and the story runs a little slow.
It's a fairly decent comedy sequel which I was happy to have caught which is more than I can say for other sequels such as Horrible Bosses 2 and Hangover 2/3.

Waste of time and money, nowhere near as good as the first film.

The 'plot' is a bit more contrived and sentimental (although the underlying premise of sentience and humanity is a great one - this probably just isn't the forum to address it!) so the jokes do feel a bit more forced. That said, when the laughs do come I found them to be deep and hearty! A good film, but not as good as the first.
