Product Description

So shocking that, to this day, the British censors insist on culling some of the film s use of live animal 'performers' THE MAN FROM DEEP RIVER instigated the entire Italian cannibal movie trend. Indeed, long before CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST attempted its own blend of bloodshed and authority-upsetting horror, THE MAN FROM DEEP RIVER was carving out an influential and important path of its own. Directed by Umberto Lenzi, who later oversaw the arterial-gushing gore of CANNIBAL FEROX and EATEN ALIVE, THE MAN FROM DEEP RIVER introduces us to a British expat (essayed by genre veteran Ivan Rassimov) who gets into some bar-brawling trouble in Bangkok and flees to the Burmese border. Unfortunately, once there, he is captured by a primitive tribe who do not take too kindly to trespassers. On the plus side, though, at least he has the lovely tribal babe Me Me Lai (LAST CANNIBAL WORLD) to keep him company... but will their 'forbidden' love meet with further flesh-filleting fear?

Filled with sicko-splatter sequences of torture and terror THE MAN FROM DEEP RIVER was an original UK Video Nasty and it returns to British shelves, in sanguine-splashed HD, for a very special 88 Films edition!

Ignore any overtly negative reviews of this blu,as they are casting their personal opinions on a product that isnt even released until next year.Better to wait until then,and judge from the GENUINE reviews of people who have actually bought it

Not really a review but just a response to the ridiculous rants by Duro that appear on here, should actually wait until a product is released and all details are known before launching another anti 88 Films tirade.

NOT SURPRISED AT ALL,88 films STILL CONTINUE TO RELEASE EVEN MORE CUT/CENSORED bluray releases. HELLO 88 films,it's 2015 NOT the 80s!! NOBODY WANTS S***TY,CUT RELEASES OF CULT MOVIES ON BLURAY,which are butchered to the point of being unwatchable by the bbfc. Anyone who knows anything about classic UNCUT cult classics will stay well clear of this awful release and 88 films in general. Get the FULLY UNCUT u.s region 1 dvd,instead.No idea whatsoever why the goofs over at 88 films seem to think that it's perfectly acceptable to continue to release cut movies and not at least state that it's been cut on the packaging?!? At least let people know that your release is garbage before charging people full price for them. As a collector of cult cinema,I feel it's not acceptable to knowingly deceive people like this. Stay away from this release at all costs!!

This line of films by '88' have not explicitly stated whether or not material is uncut, i.e. fallen foul of UK censorship and/or laws. This precludes the possibility of any advance purchase by any actual genre fan.
