What begins as a badly made 'Police Academy' sequel quickly degenerates into a laugh riot of epic proportions as we witness some of the most entertaining dubbing known to man. Combine that with dimestore production values, inept acting and a werewolf chested bad guy performance from '80s action man in waiting, Chuck Norris - all adding up to a lively, if stupid way to while away 70+ minutes of your life...

The amusingly named Officer Don Wong (Wong Tao) and his partner John (Robert Jones) are busy keeping the mean streets of 'Cisco safe when they stumble across an attempted sexual assault on a young woman called Sylvia (Sylvia Chang) by a pair of hapless goons. Luckily for our heroes, they know the ''fu'' and quickly teach these fellas a right royal lesson - in pain! Back at the station, Sylvia inexplicably dismisses their heroism and decides not to press charges, instead taking leave with her erstwhile attackers - leaving our heroes scratching their heads and licking their wounds following a dressing down from their superior (Dan Ivan, presumably acting in another movie altogether). As the plot thickens, Wong and John face vindication from the attackers, which results in Don accidently killing one of the assailants. Following a stretch in prison, Don is now working at a restaurant where he is approached by the villainous Don Slaughter (a perpetually grinning Chuck Norris) to apply his skills - but Don's no fool and rebuts his offer, culminating in a battle royale of bad acting, impressively crazy editing and supreme '70s style martial arts tom foolery which will make even the most jaded action junkie nod in approval.

This movie, although well versed in the order of giving pain - is truly bonkers.

Slaughter in San Francisco is a whole lot of fun with some awful acting and the dubbing was terrible but fun at the same time. And the sound effects when they fight was just brilliant, and some of the fight sequences are a must for all martial art fans, and Chuck Norris plays a baddie called Mr Slaughter a nasty kingpin. What more do you want?.
***DVD FEATURES***
The film ratio is in 2:35.1(16:9) Widescreen and the audio is in 2.0 Dolby Digital which does sound good, but sadly you don't get any subtitles.

The picture quality is awful, but for me this adds charm to the film.

I only decided to buy this VHS tape cos I'm a big Chuck Norris fan and Its NOT available on DVD!!-I paid a good price so I cant really complain;Norris isn't the HERO,he's actualy a baddie in this film; The fight scenes are excellent and you can tell Norris would have won if it was a real fight, but cos he wasn't the hero he lost the fight.I just hope that this film is released on DVD or bluray one day soon as its a must have martial art film.

HASH(0x8ee1d2e8) out of 5 stars Chuck Norris lives his own worst nightmare in the city of too much brotherly love! 22 Mar. 2013
By Seahorse - Published on Amazon.com
Chuck Slaughter (Ultra-conservative Chuck Norris) wakes up to find himself in the gay capital of the world and looks in the mirror to reveal that he is covered in thick curly hair from head to toe! After he gets some clothes on, he shakes the cob webs off and remembers that this is just another day in the life of a drug king/murderer/molester/bank robber/racist/briber/mafia lord/kung fu master! It is not just Norris, Frisco the entire town is corrupt with the police beating confessions out of the innocent, excessive force, deaths in holding cells made to look like suicide, assassination attempts on witnesses, taking candy away from babies, and the village people getting away with public affection. The only un-corruptable cop around is a Chinese guy (Don Wong) who just happens to be a communist/martial arts master! Chuck fails to get him on his side as he starts to fear that his back will soon get shaved. Like the star trek episode "mirror, mirror" we get to see the alternate reality evil Chuck importing drugs to America instead of kicking them out. Where did we go wrong? The makers of Slaughter in San Francisco attempt to show the stone cold truth. Using Kim Jong Ill Sr. as technical adviser, we get a rare chance to see America as it really is. Made over a weekend for approximately 350 hong kong dollars, Norris laughs his way through this Ed Wood approved masterpiece. Its all action and unintentional hilarity from beginning to end with great choreographed wall to wall fights. The goofy dubbing capsizes the already sinking ship as any chance of redemption is shattered when the producers realize an academy award is impossible. vhs is cropped, dubbed, mono english audio. dvds available in France and Italy widescreen non-english versions or a full screen english version.
HASH(0x8edcd27c) out of 5 stars Classic From Black Belt Theater Days... 24 Jun. 2012

Ok a few things first.

This is a Hong Kong production so think Shaw Brothers / Kung Fu Theater stuff. Secondly this is a Lo Wei film, he's the guy who made Bruce Lee's first two films crappier than they needed to be.

With that understood, this is a lot of fun. Chuck Norris is a bad guy with typical Kung Fu Theater dubbing.

Unlike most "pretty bad" Kung Fu films, Chuck manages to show some technique and polish, enough that his spinning back kick combo was clipped along with Heroes of the East and 5 Deadly Venoms for the intro for Black Belt Theater.

So funny I about pee'd myself. Horrible acting at its best! They dubbed even Chuck's voice! The editing is also the best of the worst. Oh, yeah, there is some okay martial arts. So entertained I almost forgot. Bad movie night GOLD!
