I once shared a flat with a girl who's favourite film was The New Barbarians. At the time I thought she was nuts and laughed out loud but she argued it might not be the best film in the world but it's never less than entertaining. It still isn't my choice for greatest film of all time but as the years go by its climbing up the rankings more than it has any right to. The other reviews pretty much cover the plot such as it is so if it a camp Mad Max rip off that never let's up on the cheesy ridiculous fun sounds like your cup of tea then go for it. I may be one of the few people in the world that checks it out on Amazon regularly in the hope someone brings out a blu-ray... Me and my old flat mate anyway.

Italian production with low budget it is funny but it is a counterfeit of Mad max 2 the road warrior also new york 1997 escape from new york but mad max with charismatique mel is the powerful classic movie.just for fun at least

The idea, plot and setting of this film are actually rather good, and Enzo's clearly a talented director...but it's everything else that will leave you in stitches...

I know people say 'it's so bad it's good' with too many films, most of which are so bad they aren't even funny or remotely enjoyable...but this is constantly unintentionally hilarious...there are the stupid, cheap looking costumes and vehicles that look like someone just covered cardboard in aluminium foil. Then there's the brilliantly bad acting, even from Fred Williamson who can be excellent in other films, and the highlight of the film is surely the classic psychedelic ritual sodomy scene made all the better by the editing...

This film obviously borrows a lot from Mad Max 2 and the Rambo films with it's exploding arrows, but the idea of a cult of the 'templars' roaming a desolate post-apocalyptic wasteland seems really novel, and like the two Bronx Warriors films which can be bought in a set with this, there's that loveable 'spaghetti' charm and flair that you just don't get in any other country's films from the 70s or 80s...

After a nuclear holocaust, A gang of ruthless killers known as 'The Templers' are going around murdering anyone they find. So two wandering mercenaries, Scorpion (Giancarlo Prete) and Nadir (Fred Williamson) team up to take them on.

This is the second film in Enzo G Castellari's Sci-Fi Trilogy. It though has nothing to do with Bronx Warriors or Escape from the Bronx. The film may star Fred Williamson from the first movie but as anyone whose seen that know his character is killed so its obvious he plays someone different here.

All the acting in my opinion is great, the best is Giancarlo Prete but Williamson is also great as Nadir a futuristic archer who uses exploding arrows (a little like Rambo 2). The villains played by Spaghetti Western bay guy George Eastman and Castellari's brother Ennio Girolami are two very interesting characters but the best is Eastman by far as the leader of the Templers and his character is called 'ONE'. The Templers are dressed all in white and resemble 'The Knights of the Templer' but the futuristic version.

The action as usual in a Castellari movie is great and the use of slow motion works well. The only problem I had was that he uses lazer guns instead of the traditional pistols/machine guns in his later 'Escape from the Bronx'. I didn't like this was because to me it makes the film seem more cheap and the sound effects are pretty poor and can be quite annoying.

I didn't really like Claudio Simonetti's score but I guess it's typical of the genre and time period, his fans will probably love it.

Overall a action packed film that's well worth watching, its got to be the most violent of the three by far, featuring countless beheading, body's been blown to pieces and a scene of male rape, GREAT STUFF.
