With the death of some of it's agents, the distinguished & very secret Kingsman spy organisation is looking to recruit some fresh blood, as a new threat arises.

Overall Kingsman The Secret Service is an entertaining mixture of old & new school spy action, brought to us by Kick Ass's Director Matthew Vaughn. We follow the My Fair Lady-esque tale of street wise kid Eggsy (Egerton) whose heading down a bad path. Given a chance, being sponsored by his dad's old friend Harry (Firth) to become a Kingsman agent and make something of himself. Through a grueling set of trials he faces social racism & tough tests to become a prestigious Kingsman agent. While the main espionage story is very familiar & predictable, you nevertheless get swept up in it's tongue in cheek, fresh, upbeat approach to the genre and it's interesting characters & relationships. The special effects are really good, along with exciting well choreographed fight sequences & spy gadgets etc... it's graphic violence that's CGI dependent, does make it feel a little overdone in places, but otherwise leaves you with a wry smile.

Colin Firth (The King's Speech) as the quintessential Kingsman agent Harry Hart, is excellent as the dapper, underestimated gent with a brolly that will make your eyes water. Taron Egerton (Testament of Youth) is equally excellent as the cocky street kid with bags of potential, whose given a taste of an intriguing new life. Together Egerton & Firth have a very belivable relationship that's the solid foundation of the movie. Samuel L.

This is one of those movies that should not work but actually does. I think some people have compared it to Kick Ass, and I can see where the comparison comes from. That was a movie made in essentially the parody of the Superhero genre. Like this it was over the top, brutal, but cleverly done so the craziness comes off as funny rather than stupid. Yes the action is way over the top but I enjoyed it and the fights were very well choreographed. In fact this movie for me is more of a homage to the old school sky movies the modern twists that a parody. There are certain touches that made this movie really good. I like the wall of spy gadgets, and a wall of mobile phone, when asked about them we are told that wall is useless as the civilian world has caught up with the spy world in that department. Also for me personally it is always great to see Mark Hamill doing one of his cameos.

The Kingsman is a super-secret spy organization (is there any other kind), there origins have always to take the best of the best either out of Cambridge or Oxford, and so they do have an elitist sense about them. However they do sometimes find a diamond among the coal. Enter the son of a former agent Eggsy Unwin. Like the rest of the world he never knew what his father did, why or how he was killed. All he got was a medal with a number on it in case the $*** really hit the fan. Though brilliant and athletically gifted lack of opportunities have caused him to turn to petty crime. That is till he calls the number and a "friend" of his father gives him the opportunity to prove himself in the exciting but elitist and deadly world of the Kingsman.

This is an all-round good movie which I confess I did enjoy more than I thought I would. The cast were great and it kept my interest for the whole 2 hours plus.

What a brilliant film - it's a complete spoof but if you like action movies this is one for you. It's like they've taken Bond , Steed , and various other heroes and mixed them up in the title character played by Colin Firth - but it works. The action is non stop from the start with plenty of comedy and Tarantino like violence with shades of the Matrix thrown in for good measure but it works incredibly well and it's politically incorrect - fantastic for a new film. One of the best scenes is the fight in the Church - absolutely hilarious. The film lasts over two hours but you'll be captivated from start to finish and remember to carry on watching after the titles start to roll at the end as there is a brilliant final scene tucked in there that completes the circle of events.

BEST MOVIE OF 2015

This movie is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to spy secret agent movies, a very original and brilliant take on the whole genre, the story basically centres around the young lad Eggsy who is a youth with a troubled start in life who is taken under the wing of Galahad one of the kingsman played by Colin Firth, he sees the potential in Eggsy and who he can become, the movie has plenty of action and quality fight sequences that are really well shot and are utterly violent, I think Matthew Vaughn has done an amazing job of directing this, its the kick-ass of spy movies for sure, certainly Vaughn's best and most entertaining work yet, the entire cast is fantastic too, Colin Firth is really good, an interesting role for him with plenty of action involved, Sam Jackson is super cool as usual and plays a hilariously ridiculous yet badass villain with a lisp, he also has the most badass sidekick ever Gazelle with the razor feet, this is a super charged movie from beginning to end, great action, insanely violent, great fresh story, great humour, high tech gadgets, great cast, I think this takes the best from the classic days of old fashioned spy movies and makes it its own thing, forget boring bond movies this is a franchise that is dying for sequels!

Watch out for the church fight scene, it has be one of the best ever!!

Blu-ray picture quality is great
Features include multiple making of and behind the scenes 86-minutes total approx, and galleries and trailers.
128-Mins running time, 2015.
