Freddie Horne (David Kernan, Carry On Abroad) loves his job working for a trendy women s fashion magazine, but his pretty blonde fiancée is getting jealous. To smooth things over Freddie takes a job with the Puritan Magazine Group, an organisation hell-bent on promoting moral reform and family values . However, the caddish chief executive Miles Fanthorpe (Derek Aylward, Come Play with Me) is not all he seems. Fanthorpe s country house is actually full of scantily-clad young women, and he is secretly publishing a girlie magazine! Originally released as I Like Birds, this riotous 1967 sex farce was the first big screen movie by cult British filmmaker Pete Walker, who went on to helm horror classics like House of Whipcord and Frightmare. Making its debut on DVD for the very first time, For Men Only is supplemented with a saucy selection of Walker s famous 8mm glamour shorts, including Soho Striptease, banned since 1960.

About the Director

Cult film director, Pete Walker, is well known for his British horror films - Frightmare, Die Screaming Marianne and cult exploitation films House of Mortal Sin and House of Whipcord. Before he graduated to horror though he cut his teeth on sexy British 1970's exploitation flicks such as For Men Only aka I Like Birds and School For Sex.

The film is good, with plenty of buxom young bikini clad hotties appearing in many scenes. Unfortunately the film lacks enough naughtiness, and needed more nudity. That said, the extra features are brilliant, with rare silent striptease films, making this DVD a must own for fans of sixties/seventies "slap n tickle" movies.

Poor 70's sex comedy, don't expect any nudity in this film however and the acting is not up to much. Many better film released from this period so give this one a miss if I was you

This release of Pete Walkers 'For Men Only' clocks in at around 40 minutes the image quality is excellent,although as others have stated the film is remarkably chaste for the 1968 audience with barely a flash of flesh in it's 40 mins.I have a battered looking vhs rip of the export version clocking in at 59 minutes,those extra 19 minutes are where all the 60's sauciness went,some of that version is present on the extra features in an 8 minute clip called 'The Round-up' in B/W with no sound.
The extras are what the late great exploiter David F. Friedman would refer to as 'The Square Up Reel' ie the main feature didn't deliver much of what you came for so here's something extra...In this case about a dozen nudie shorts from Pete Walkers Heritage Studios days are very welcome as is the informative booklet and eye-opening export trailer.All in all a good purchase at the right price(about 8 quid)
