They didn't remake the same film again, but used the same characters. I am not sure who was "taken" in this one. Now after the second film, I thought Bryan (Liam Neeson) and Lenore (Famke Janssen) were a sure thing to get back together, but apparently he didn't get so much as "thank you" nookie from it. What does a guy got to do? She is still with the guy we hate (Dougray Scott).

In this film Bryan is accused of murder and must go after the real killers while the LAPD led by Forest Whitaker are hot on his tail. Oh yea, the Russians are involved too, which are more formidable than Albanians in LA. I wasn't sure why Kim (Maggie Grace) would say "Dad is predictable," apparently she was in a coma for the first two features. Unfortunately the film is like a combination of Colombo and Scooby-Doo. There are not enough suspects developed to make it overly interesting, and the entertainment is watching all the collateral damage caused by Liam only to be later ignored by the LAPD. We have digressed to car chase scenes and car crashes for excitement.

This was not a great script. I think most fans of the series could have come up with something better. Admittedly I was bit disappointed, yet still entertained. It was like kissing your sister.

Guide: 1 f-bomb with Russian accent. No sex or nudity.

There was nothing on in the cinemas that I fancied so I spent a lonely Saturday afternoon watching "Taken 3", the latest and hopefully the last of this series.This time ,peculiarly,nobody was actually "taken" as the plot features Liam Neeson's character going on the run after his ex wife was found murdered in his apartment.Quite why he decided to flee rather than cooperate with the police is a bit of a mystery,but the whole plot is pretty far fetched,so maybe that shouldn't be surprising. The film isn't as slick and exciting as the first film and there are the usual car chases,roof pursuits and murders,though the body count is lower this time. That said this movie is watchable enough and passed a few hours adequately,but it won't live long in the memory.This series is now played out and I don't think there can be a justification for a Taken 4.

Liam Neeson' revisits his role as former C.I.A. operative 'Brian Mills' one more time.....
He'll have to keep one step ahead to prove his innocents and ensure that his own freedom is not 'Taken'
He's been set-up for the murder of his ex-wife 'Lenore' (Famke Janssen) thankfully his beloved daughter
'Kim' (Maggie Grace) is supportive of her Father, knowing he could not have been responsible.
Using his skills and indeed reliable contacts from his previous occupation he sets out to unraval the real
reason his ex has been killed and indeed who is responsible.....the thing is, 'Bryan' still had deep feelings
for 'Leonore' - this is personal.
On his trail and having trouble keeping up 'Inspector Franck Dotzler' (Forest Whitaker)
Trouble is daughter 'Kim' could also be in danger from what 'Bryan' believes to be the Russian Mobster 'Oleg'
(Sam Spruell) who it seems is owed money by 'Leonore's' husband 'Stuart' (Dougray Scott)...is this the reason
'Bryan's' ex has been killed ?
I guess if you have seen the previous 'Taken movies you'll know what to expect in the way of action, and in
truth you'll not be disappointed.
As well as the inventive action sequences there is also a well staged car-chase on the freeways and back-streets
of 'L.A'
Though the plot is fairly predictable the story-line is stronger than that of the previous Taken-Movie...enjoyable
viewing.
Superb Picture and Sound Quality throughout.
The Blu-ray version does have both the Theatrical and indeed The Harder Version on-board.
Features -
* Deleted Scenes
* 'Sam's Bunker A.K.A - The Rabbit Hole
* Taken to L.A
* A Taken Legacy
* Stills Gallery

Thankfully Taken 3 is a big improvement on Taken 2, though that sounds like damning with faint praise. This time round it looks like they’ve actually spent some money on it, they give Liam Neeson a chance to display a few particular skills and face a bit more of a challenge and it’s not as lethargic as the previous film. On the minus side Olivier Megaton is back as director and he still doesn’t know how to shoot a car chase to save his life, which is a problem in a film with two of them, and the plot is basically just a rehash of the movie version of The Fugitive, with nobody getting kidnapped this time because Neeson’s too busy trying to prove he didn’t murder his wife, evade Forrest Whitaker’s homicide cop and take his revenge to rescue them if they did (Neeson reportedly refused to make the film if anyone got taken this time because after the last two films “that’s just bad parenting”). Contrivance runs wild and you’ll know which sweaty and seedy supporting character is behind it all before Famke Janssen even passes on the chance of being in Taken 4 but it’s a better looking, faster movie with better conceived (though not always executed) action scenes and a couple of big outrageous stunts even if it does feel like a completely unrelated off-the-shelf action movie script that’s just been mildy reworked and slapped with the Taken brand.

It’s not as good as the first in the series but it does manage to wash away the bad taste left in the mouth by the shoddy second film in the franchise and is a decent enough sendoff if this really is the end of the road for Superdad.

Fox's Blu-ray offers a rated and extended unrated cut of the film but comes up light on the extras - a 7-minute deleted scene, three brief and inconsequential featurettes, stills gallery and trailer.
