Bull, Monkey and Holy Joe are three ageing outlaws who learn that their fellow partner know as 'The Englishman' has died from Tuberculosis and that his son Thomas Moore has arrived in America from England. They decide to honour their friends last wishes, which were to make his son a man. Which is a lot harder than it seems.

After the huge success of the Trinity films director Enzo Barboni reunites here with his star star of those movies, Terrence Hill for this well made but very predictable comedy Spaghetti Western. As with the Trinity films he avoids having any gunfights or killings and sticks to bar room brawls instead, which always seems to work well in Barboni comedies.

Terrence Hill is good as Thomas Moore but I did feel he was a little over the top with his slap stick humour in some scenes. The rest of the cast are good as well but the Bull character seems as if it had been written for Bud Spencer, Gregory Walcott however isn't bad in this role so it didn't bother me to much.

The story itself is a little bit to long and I did find myself getting a bored in the middle of the movie but with some exciting brawls and the occasional laugh out loud moment this is well worth watching for fans of Terrence Hill and anyone who likes a Slapstick Spaghetti Western.

Great Wide Screen DVD Quality. English Audio. Only issue is that there was no extra features.

Terence Hill is known for his spaghetti westerns, however this one is a bit different. First of all, he flies solo, without his buddy Bud Spencer. Secondly the film has a slight twist: the main character is actually from England , he is more interested in ants than he is in horses and he does not know how to use a firearm! As he meets a certain girl, this will all change as he will have to turn into a fierce cowboy in order to win her heart. It's a nice comedic movie with a good share of feelings as well. Personally it is my favorite of his and at this price it is totally worth it.

This is a Terence Hill movie, so it is good. He goes out west from the East, but he really sounds like he's British. I had to watch this movie 2 times to really appreciate it. The movie is humorous and shows a different side of Terence Hill. I would have really liked it better if the voice was actually Terence Hill's voice. I didn't like the dubbed voice. It was worth seeing if you are a Terence Hill fan.

On hearing of the death of their friend, three grizzled outlaws agree to take on the responsibility of looking after his son, Tom Moore, whilst teaching him the ornery ways of the wild west.
Which might not be so difficult had their new understudy not been educated and brought up in England to be a gentleman.
Of course this doesn't go down too well with the outlaws, and even less well with the local rowdies and land baron, who's daughter Tom Moore has taken a shine to, and is attempting to woo with his fancy poems and charming lady magic.
Which lands him in trouble right up to his neck, his orders being to leave town or die...

Barboni (or EB Clucher as he's better known) directed this, and pretty much if you like his comedy style westerns or the movies of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill he made, then you're pretty much guaranteed to be entertained here as well. The humour mostly revolves around sight gags and slapstick humour, with a story that steals from everything from The Big Country to Carry On Cowboy.
Of course one will be wondering why Spencer was never cast (probably busy filming Four Flies On Grey Velvet or It Can Be Done Amigo) considering that there's a perfect role for him, but to be fair Walcott does a very good job.
In spite of all the silliness there's an honesty and naivety to the film that you rarely find in today's cinema, however I doubt that a modern audience would be very likely to rediscover MotE, let alone appreciate many of it's innocent qualities, which is a shame because there are some great gags, stereotyping and one liners to be found here.

The 101 films release is a really nice print, it's widescreen and at a really cheap price. Bare bones though.

I absolutely enjoyed the movie. another good performance from Terence Hill (Mario Girotti). A very good story/script. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Terence Hill. The movies he made in the 1970's with Bud
Spencer in the comedy western They call me Trinity, Trinity is still my name are unforgettable. And his performance in Django prepare a coffin was brilliant.
