Product Description

Product Description

From master-of-horror Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) comes this supernatural, offbeat thriller starring beloved British actor Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter franchise, The Woman in Black) and the talented Juno Temple (Magic Magic, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For).
Ig Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) is accused of the murder of his girlfriend, Merrin Williams (Juno Temple). After a hard night of drinking, Ig awakens, hungover, to find horns growing out of his head; they have the ability to drive people to confess sins and give in to selfish impulses. Ig decides to use this effective tool to discover the circumstances of his girlfriend's death and to seek revenge by finding the true murderer.
Daniel and Juno lead an all-star cast with strong support from David Morse (The Green Mile, The Hurt Locker) and Heather Graham (The Hangover I & III, Boogie Nights).
HORNS is based on the dark fantasy novel of the same name from New York Times best-selling author Joe Hill (Heart Shaped Box) with a screenplay by Keith Burnin. Alexandre Aja, Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland and Cathy Schulman produce.

This is a fantastic movie, part love story part drama large part horror all mixed into one, and it works really well, bizarre yet awesome story about a young man who is accused by his entire town of murdering his girlfriend after a having an argument, after waking up one morning from a night of drinking he discovers horns are growing out of his head, at first they are a curse but he soon discovers whoever is around him is compelled to tell the truth about what they are feeling or really thinking, so he accepts the horns as a blessing and uses his ability to try and find the real killer of his girlfriend, the cast is fantastic, im certainly no Radcliffe fan up until now but he is totally brilliant in this, he's certainly grown up and thrown off the Harry Potter shackles, the rest of the cast is great too, Juno Temple who is gorgeous as always, Alexandre Aja is a great director and was perfect for this, there's plenty of violence, some really bloody and a strong gore scene toward the end, the movie has good humour in places too, overall its a really original concept that's highly entertaining I think more to horror fans, great cast, great effects, great music, absolutely bonkers ending, make sure you don't miss this movie!

Ig has been accused of killing his girlfriend and everyone thinks that he is guilty. Worse still, he wakes up one morning to discover a pair of demon like horns growing out of his head and anyone that sees them has to tell the truth and confess their darkest desires. Ig decides to use the horns to find out who really killed his girlfriend. A highly original and very different darkly comic supernatural murder mystery thriller, this is an unexpected gem and a very pleasant surprise with a good performance and good American accent from Daniel Radcliffe in an adult role far removed from the Harry Potter series. In fact as he's getting older he seems to be getting better and better as an actor in different roles and the film is a genuine mystery keeping you guessing the identity of the real killer.

I don't like to tear books and movies to shreds and I don't like to lie. That's why I hardly ever write reviews.
I didn't like the Harry Potter movies, none of them. And I didn't think, Daniel Radcliffe was a particularly talented actor.
Boy, was I wrong!

I had never heard of Alexandre Aja, the director of "Horns" and haven't seen his earlier movies because I really dislike horror. I do however appreciate suspense and dark humor. I like not knowing how a story is going to end after watching 20 minutes of it but on the other hand there has to be a story, a logic structure otherwise the viewer would feel cheated.
"Horns" masters this balance in a way not many other movies do. It has the feeling of an independent production where the writer (a great artist, a fantastic craftsman: Keith Bunin!!!) was allowed to writer, the director to direct and the actors to act. The highest compliment one can give to a producer is to acknowledge his talent to find the right people, bring them together and let them create something new with the vision he has. "Horns" is clearly not that independent, not that arthouse - there was a budget, there was money, there are special effects, there are stars - but it hasn't lost that raw edge that comes from not too many cooks spoiling the recipe.

I didn't expect much from "Horns" ... and was seriously in awe after no more than 20 minutes. The acting is superb! Not just Daniel Radcliffe who gives a performance so mature and in control yet inspired and brutally honest, much beyond his years!
I don't want to give away the plot because I'd had no idea and it kept me on my toes. I loved the ending, I loved the beginning, I really loved the middle.
One of those rare gems - not rough but polished by the best craftsmen to make it shine and show off its edges.
Superb!!

First I must gives kudos to Keith Bunin (screenplay), Joe Hill (novel) for giving us a film that was different.

Iggy Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) is accused of killing his girlfriend Merrin (Juno Temple). The whole town is against him. We are convinced he is not the killer, although we don't know for sure. His childhood friend is defending him as he walks free, wanting to know who is the real killer.

Through circumstances Iggy, who drives a Gremlin and listens to David Bowe, grows horns These aren't any horns. They make people around him lose their inhibitions and tell the truth...making his quest to find the real killer a bit easier if not more interesting since Iggy can make devilish suggestions.

I liked the little details in the film, the Gremlin, the pitchfork, Bowe, and the biblical license plates (GEN 138, 2036 LUK). I am feeling that I missed a few. The storyline keeps you engaged as we quest for the truth.

The film is classified as a drama/fantasy/horror. Worth a view.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Juno Temple).
