Product Description

John R. Leonetti directs this horror prequel to 'The Conjuring' (2013). Mia and John Gordon (Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton) are terrorised by supernatural forces when John thinks he has found the perfect gift for his wife and unborn child, a rare vintage doll dressed in a white wedding dress named Annabelle. The family's joy however is abruptly ended when they are invaded and attacked in their home by members of a satanic cult. The terror of that night is nothing compared to what follows as the cult conjure an entity which takes over Annabelle and transforms her into a malevolent force of evil.

I'm finding it harder and harder to trust reviews by others nowadays. Nearly every review I see criticises Annabelle and so it wasn't until today that I actually got around to trying it for myself. All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised at a finely crafted horror film that supplements The Conjuring perfectly. I'm not going to balance out the silly low reviews with a 5 rating (as tempting as it is) but I do think it very worthy of a 4 star rating as there are plenty of good scares and a decent story. I honestly don't know what some of you people were watching but it clearly wasn't the same film as me. Maybe some people don't have any appreciation of subtlety and need to see the doll running around with a chainsaw before they consider the movie "scary". It's also funny that I watched a shockingly awful sci-fi horror catastrophe called Extraterrestrial today (that I gave 1 star) and yet that has the same average user rating as Annabelle - something is very wrong there!!! It seems I have to rely purely on my own gut instinct when picking out movies now, as I just can't trust the bafflingly strange reviews and scores from other people that seem so random that they bare little or no resemblance to the same film I've watched!!!

I do not feel that Annabelle was frightening at all as far as scary Movies go. I would have Preferred to watch a documentary about Annabelle in regards to the true story/ nature of the film in its real form.

The film industry do not make horror films like they did years ago and this is no exception.

The portrayal of the doll Annabelle needed to play a greater part and do more. It came across as too fictional for a true story; I felt as if the Movie Contradicted itself by allegedly claiming that this is a true story, but not living up to its true form but coming across as too fictional and not believable.

The film the forth kind is scary and allegedly true, NOW that's a believable Film!!! and one I could watch again and again and its not even a Horror.

Maybe the script writer and producer should sit down and have a coffee with the script writer and producer of the forth kind and get some tips on how too scare the beep beep out of an 11 year old and her mother. Lol

I ordered this on Friday afternoon and received it yesterday, amazing service.

The film it's self was a bit slow to start but once it did I was quiet scary in places (I'm not saying I screamed, just made me jump in places) found the couple a bit too sickly sweet.

I've posted a pic of my Annabelle( I didn't name it) as my friends think it's haunted)

I have to admit, i expected more from this film. It is a slow starter but when you get half way through stuff starts to happen. I would watch this film again, that is why i gave it 3 stars

Could had been better but it was very weak and predictable. If you are expecting the film to be focused on Annabelle then don't as this film is not really about Annabelle but about a sprit attached to it (in fact they could had called the film 'The Conjuring 2'). Also like other films; all the of the jump scares were in the trailer. However, It was quite enjoyable and it was nice to see what happened before the events 'The Conjuring' so it is worth a watch!

I enjoyed this film. I thought the story was good and the haunted doll pretty scary and even if it wasnt haunted I wouldnt have wanted it! Felt sorry for the baby having to sleep in the room with all the dolls, that was creepy initself. Not too many scares to make you leap out of your seat but I did jump at one point and overall glad I watched it.

A good movie. The start goes back to the start of the movie The Conjuring and is set a few years before. It is supposedly based on true events, though the Anabelle doll in the movie is much creepier than the rea life one was. It is a good storyline and there are a few scary moments. If you liked the Conjuring you may like this movie.
