This is a story about a relatively inexperienced young lady who is stuck in a tepid relationship with a self-centred 'plank'. When she fails to get any sympathetic responses from him she decides to explore 'other' avenues - with interesting results. I enjoyed watching, and the subtitles were sufficient to understand most of the dialogue. For me - other items by this author might well be worth trying.

I watched this on amazon prime, which worked very well. For starters, the tanned, full-breasted, lithesome figure on the cover is not that of the main protagonist but this doesn't mean that she's any less sexy! Marie is a very pretty, slim, dark-haired, pale-skinned, button breasted Parisian school teacher in a relationship with a narcissistic model, Paul, who won't return her sexual advances. In fact, the more she tries, the more he rebuffs her. She is madly in love with him and his coldness fills her with self-loathing. He seems to taunt her with his indifference and tempts her to leave him which just makes her cling on more. Paul is one of those self-centred men who will only respond to 'the chase' and, what Marie doesn't realise is, that what will turn Paul onto her is, for her to play hard to get so that he can chase her. Instead, one night, while Paul is asleep, she slips out and goes to a singles bar. She certainly cuts a dash, dressed in white, slipping through the night in a white open-top Mercedes 280SL, with her dark hair falling over her smokey brown eyes. Tres chic, n'est ce pas? There Marie meets Paulo and she makes no bones of the fact that she's sexually frustrated but, despite some fondling, afterwards, in the car, she won't let him go any further. On there second meeting, she allows him to seduce her but defuses any eroticism with a long lecture about hating the men she allows to f**k her, hating their c*cks, not kissing them, and not liking herself much either. The principal at the primary school, where she teaches, picks up on her emotional vulnerability and invites her back to his apartment where we discover that he's into BDSM and subjugation of women (even suggesting, at one point, that they only respond to rape!!!).Read more ›

This film does not seem to be well-liked, and it's not hard to see why. The matter-of-fact depiction of loveless sex is likely to shock the shockable, whilst disappointing those in search of porn or eroticism. I rate it 5 star because I found it to realistically show the horror of unrequited love - not just the mental torture, but also the way it causes out-of - character behaviour - I am thinking not so much of the lead character's sex life, but of the way she drags around after the man she loves, even though she knows this is the exact opposite of what she should do, and will only make her situation worse; also of her silent (until the end) rage. I appreciated the attempt to truthfully depict a female psyche, and a women's rite of passage into self-determination. It is a little sad to find some reviewers saying this was unrealistic. Are we so accustomed to seeing female characters who are mere ciphers compared to the leading males, that we do not recognise a more realistic portrait when we see it?

The French are very good at making this type of erotic drama at go a lot deeper into a storyline more than they would in the Uk. . French actors and actress have less qualms in how far they are willing take a storyline if demanded.They will go has far as a script requires them to.Therefore you get a sense that the film would then convey real life and it makes a film more realistic to the viewer.This film is worth a purchase and I would recommend it for those who are interested in French erotic drama thats both well acted and is very convincing especially.in the most extreem difficult sexual moments that occur in this film.

When released this one caused quite a stir- It was one of the first movies showing in English mainstream movies showing sexually explicit footage, including a woman giving a man a blowjob. People actually walked out of the cinema.

The movie's thin plot is about a woman who can't get no satisfaction so to speak, so she puts herself in certain situations to get the ultimate experience. It tried to shock, but most males had been there seen it by the time this movie came out.

The type of film that you can watch with your partner, might even get aroused after- but anyone seeking an actual plot should look elsewhere.
