Amazing graphics and worthwhile. The game play is amazing, but beware parents, once the kids have started it's hard to get them to stop

This is the first cod title I bought for a while having been converted to battlefield for far superior multiplayer gameplay ie more simulator, not arcadey.

Love the storyline and some of the ideas for the campaign, but these games have become really cinematic during gameplay which means that scope for actually thinking about how you need to approach certain situations has been removed. Whatever you do the outcome is always the same for the sake of the storyline progressing in an ever increasing amount of automated first person action. The only thing you have to time is how long you are hiding and how long you are visible shooting. That is literally it.

Can't knock graphics and gameplay as is still really easy to pick up and looks great.

Yet again though, multiplayer is fast and furious and is little more than who can play the game for longer to level up to get the better weapons the quickest. No feel for the guns anymore and honestly, if you find the multiplayer engaging and exciting there is something wrong with you. No tactical aspect so would suit those who just like to blast away while not having to think about out smarting their opponents.

For a real multiplayer experience, with a team effort, strategy and longevity ( not to mention double the amount of players on each team and the choice of utilising vehicles ) with loads of different options, seriously invest in copy of battlefield 4. If you spend as long playing that as you do cod you will never go back....unless you like mindless non tactical shooting. Cod World at War was their best effort to date at the multiplayer and unless they have a serious rethink about what fps really want, I can't see that changing. Good luck in your next attempt.

Absolutely brilliant. People give it slack but I think it's because it's called "call of duty". Brilliant game and I've played many COD's.

I bought this as a Christmas present for a friend's son, he has played it for a few weeks now, with no problems.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons -- one of the most powerful men in the world -- shaping this chilling vision of the future of war. The game takes place in a plausible future in which technological progress and today's military practices have converged with powerful consequences.

Simply throwing a robot suit onto Call of Duty could have been a lazy path to making Advanced Warfare seem different from what we’ve played before, but the way Sledgehammer has integrated its enhanced abilities and choices into every aspect of how we fight went above and beyond. By designing the levels in the campaign, co-op, and multiplayer to facilitate those new mechanics, Advanced Warfare is granted a weight and importance that changes how the fast-paced shooting action feels in all three modes. This is a Call of Duty game to its core, but one that rehashes as little as possible while still retaining its strengths.

Deeply dissapointed in this game.
My wife bought me Advanced Warfare as an early xmas gift as she wanted me to be able to have it on release and didn't want me 'catching up' at christmas. Very sweet.
So it's appaling that after playing for less than a month I'd be trading it in if it hadn't been her gift.

There are some great features in this game and for the COD franchise it really is a change of direction. The campaign is interesting and while the plot is predictable and the AI a bit dumb, it has new elements and it's not just the same, familiar levels reskinned like the last 2-3 games; new 'Exo' modes bring a very different style of gameplay to the multiplayer and the whole thing is much faster paced; class customisation is generally more flexible than in Ghosts or MW, and allows for quite a range of approaches to a match to a certain extent.

However, there are some very strong flaws with the game that have truly spoiled it for me.

- Servers. This is the laggiest COD game I've played and this is the biggest flaw. And it's a huge one. The servers simply can't handle the faster pace of matches and the number of fire-fights that are lost despite countless hit markers, deaths after being shot through really very substantial walls and generally people appearing and disappearing at will is appalling. Part of this might be due to the matchmaking being awful. I'm frequently (at least 40% of the time) in games where I can recognise players speaking in French, Italian, Dutch, German or Spanish. We get occasional Greek players, or Turkish. If the servers are throwing people into games from 2 and a half thousand miles apart, the chances of 2 consoles receiving information at the same time is pretty slim.

I bought COD Advanced Warfare as I've put hundreds of hours into Battlefield 4 and was wanting to play something with smaller maps and a more infantry vs. infantry gameplay.

I've been a fan of COD online ever since my first session of Modern Warfare and I think MW3 is the best yet, a hairs breadth better than MW2 (which has better maps). But I've not liked the Black Ops games or Ghosts as they've added nothing to the series.

The problem with COD is two fold, 1st of all they perfected the series at MW3, they balanced out the gameplay, levelling system, kill streaks and weapons to a point where it couldn't be bettered. They really did perfect it and everything since has been a slight tweak (making it worse) to the MW3 formula. The 2nd problem is that Activision have 2 studios working full time to produce a game every winter, this is just diluting the series into a yearly cash cow and this latest entry is no acception. I've put about 20 hours into the XB1 online multiplayer and it's now time to write about it.

With the addition of the double jump the maps have truly been transformed into 3D arenas, this is by far the most severe addition to the COD formula and totally re-invents the traditional COD experience. Beforehand a successful player relied on a few basic disciplines:

- Knowing the Map layout
- Knowing the environmental advantages
- Equipping the best weapon for the situation
- A general awareness of what's going on around them
- Choosing when to fight and when to run

The addition of the Exo-suit makes the player super mobile with the double jump and boost ability, you now have to master this before you can even think about being successful at the game.
