Format: Blu-ray
First, to clear up some inaccuracies in the description: this is a Region Free set, playable on any Blu-Ray machine. As has been pointed out, there are 9 discs, not 8. The 2 different versions of "!941" are on separate discs, which is an improvement over the U.S. edition, in which both versions are on one disc. The extended version is excellent, and includes music cues for the added scenes that have never been heard before. If you're a fan of "1941," you'll be delighted. It's a shame that "Duel" is not "dually" presented (as was the case in its original DVD release). This set does not contain the movie in its original TV aspect ratio, nor in its shorter TV broadcast version; you only get the longer, reformatted version here. The packaging is bizarre, especially compared to the US version, because it's ultra long size makes it hard to put on the shelf. (The more compact US packaging fits right alongside other Blu-Rays.) I won't discuss the other movies, as we all know what they are. Suffice to say, they all look and sound better than they ever have. It is a bit frustrating for those of us who have bought the previous Blu-Rays of some of these movies to have to buy them again to get the ones that are new to Blu-Ray (they are the very same transfers), but the set i's not overpriced, and certainly makes a good gift. But that oblong packaging is a real head-scratcher.

Awesome black friday deal! My sister was thrilled with this as we do not own a single Steven spielberg blu ray (awful fans we are). And you get a nice book with some info and stills for the price... 4 stars instead of 5 because:
1) There are some great movies missing like Schindler's list.
2) The discs are tricky to get out of their cases.
3) And finally, don't know if this is just my TV, but some shots in Jurrasic park are grainy, like they haven't properly converted it all to full HD yet?? (I'm watching this off the PS3 on a 46inch sony bravia and all my other blu rays have always looked great!).
We have not yet watched any other films to comment on them but I still think it's great value for money as each blu ray on its own is about £7. If you know your Spielberg movies well however, other reviewers mention weird aspect ratios and lack of dubs and full collection of movies. This doesn't bother us however!

I have just received my set today and it is absolutely fantastic, the packaging is sturdy and easy to use (very similar to the Bond 50 set) with great artwork throughout, the booklet is well put together though a little short. The discs themselves are top notch (I am yet to watch Sugarland express, 1941:extended version or Always) but so far so good picture and sound wise. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the different versions of 1941 are on separate discs. All in all a great set worth every penny.

Poor selection of movies.
It is not necessary to include Jaws,E.T.,Jurassic Park and The Lost World. Other movies are ok.
Good packaging and book.
