I've been a huge fan of this series since the start, and this collection combines my favourite in the series (Kingdom Hearts 2) with one I hadn't had the chance to play before (Birth By Sleep).
But we get more than just these two games simply. These are the Final Mix versions, which were previously only available in Japan. This adds in a lot of new content - new cutscenes, new boss battles, new puzzles, all of which really add to the experience of the game and make it worth it even if you've played the original.
Of course, this is a HD Remaster, and the visuals of both games are hugely improved from their originals. Both look brilliant while still retaining that "Disney feel" that has become such an important part of the series.
Finally, there is Kingdom Hearts Recoded, which has been transformed into a three hour movie, which is also very enjoyable. It doesn't look as nice perhaps as the other two, but as this was made from a DS game that is understandable, and it does still look great. The addition of battle scenes really creates more of a cinematic experience, and towards the end there are several scenes that are important as we head towards Kingdom Hearts 3.

This collection is brilliant, and is a must have for fans of the series. It is a great improvement on last year's 1.5 (which itself was great), and I recommend it to anyone, especially if you missed out on one of these three games

I purchased the game to play Kingdom Hearts 2 on my PS3, having purchased it but never actually managing to get round to playing in on my PS2. I have not tried the Birth by Sleep or Re:Coded as being remade DS games I am assuming rightly or wrongly that the star turn is the Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Version. I have played the original Kingdom Hearts game and have a warm fuzzy nostalgic view of the experience, so was hoping to relive this with the sequel, which got pretty positive reviews at the time. The game starts badly with a tutorial that last nearly 7 hours, this is not just patronizing hand holding like in Ni No Kuni, this is removing all game elements and making you watch a terrible old school public services safety video . It is probably the worst opening to a game I have ever experienced and had I actually researched how long it was going to last I’d have likely quit before the game actually started. Would that have been a terrible mistake? A mistake yes, terrible no, Kingdom Hearts 2 just about gains a recommendation from me, with a large amount of small printed caveats that is.

The game mechanics themselves are poor, the combat is pretty repetitive, supposedly nuanced, but it really pushes subtlety to the brink, I tried lots of different techniques and set ups and always returned to mashing X, with an occasional dalliance with the Square and Circle buttons. I admit I am not a hardcode Devil May Cry / Bayonetta black belt in combo heavy combat, but I’m not sure that my lack of mad skilz is the problem.

What can I say about kingdom hearts 2.5. Simply amazing, two of the best games in one collection. Graphics look super smooth and the plot in kingdom hearts is unrivalled when it comes to the gaming industry in my opinion.with such lovable characters and a bbeautiful philosophy embedded into the games story in addition to the action packed enjoyable gameplay I gotta give this a 10/10.

What this game has got is everything that was missed out in the normal Kingdom Hearts 2, Birth by Sleep. I recommend playing the first Kingdom Hearts, preferably Final Mix, then Chain of Memories and carry on with the second and finish it off with Birth by Sleep. Every single piece of story will make more sense. If you find this game too easy, try critical mode, which is available on both 2.5 games. If all else fails, try playing it on level 1, which is added in this version as an ability to nil all experience gained. If getting the final form was easy on Kingdom Hearts 2, then final mix will require you to fight a certain someone, unlike watching a cutscene and getting it without effort. Birth by Sleep has got some nasty side bosses after the game, which are even more dangerous than the one with silver hair and 5 foot long katana. Same goes for KH2 in this set. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Already owned this and bought it again for my boyfriend as a present. Instead of writing a game review for each which you could find elsewhere I'll list the pros and cons with this version

Pros:
FM content you couldn't have got without importing or emulating before
Trophy support
PS3 wallpapers when you complete them

Cons:
Load times are much longer than the original. In speed running using this remastered version leads to an extra 40 minutes added on just from load times.
And that's general loading between rooms in both playable ones as well as loading drive forms, summons in KH2FM, and D-links in BBSFM, so if you're grinding a lot it'll add up to a lot of waiting.

My partner who hasn't played the original KH games before, is experiencing them first on these remixes as it's more convenient, but he does wish that they would have allowed you to use the original palette colors for enemies. Personally when playing I start to forget what the original palette colors even were.
