Thoroughly enjoyed this one.Maybe not evryones cup of tea as maybe a bit too slushly especially if you don't like to see loads of kids in a film!
I like the split personality of this film with arnie doing a great job as an undercover cop posing as a kindergarten teacher to try and capture a drug dealer.
not too heavy on the action although enough to make it believable, the comic touches are well played also.
Not too be taken too seriously but all the better for it.
A great way to spend a rainy sunday afternoon...

This brisk change of genre for Arnold Schwarzenegger helps him flex his comedic muscle, quite literally, in a situation that plays to his strength in polar opposites with his co-stars. What could be more entertaining than an indestructible action hero facing off against a classroom of innocent, naïve troublemakers? It proves to be wonderfully entertaining, with a sugar coated gloss running all the way through.

Safe to say there is a far share of adult themes, especially violence and drug abuse. The film blends both the thriller and comedy genre very well, with Schwarzenegger playing both roles as tough cop and vulnerable kindergarten teacher perfectly until they blend together to make the ideal role-model for the children and parents he is involved with. It’s a good character progression, and John Kimble has some of the most famous and quotable lines in Schwarzenegger’s illustrious career.

The mushy romance that blossoms between Schwarzenegger and Miller’s characters is predictable and very soppy in places, but it’s a little factor that helps round out the relationships between the adults and children, each playing a vital part in the story and proving their importance. The strong support from the ever likable Pamela Reed and the love-to-hate him Richard Tyson keeps the danger present at all times and maintains the threat that at times you forget about, much like Kimble, but are reminded of towards the finale that blends strong emotion, touches upon the power of family, and of course a few rounds of gun shots from Kimble.

Kindergarten Cop is directed by Ivan Reitman and it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Kimble, a tough police detective who goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher to catch drug dealing baddie Cullen Crisp (Richard Tyson), before Crisp can get to his ex-wife and son. However, having no teaching experience prior, Kimble finds the children a right handful. Not only that but he finds himself drawn to another teacher, Joyce (Penelope Ann Miller) to further complicate things.

Sandwiched in between Total Recall and Terminator 2:Judgement Day, is this light action comedy on Arnold Schwarzenegger's Curriculum Vitae. With a salary of $12 million in his pocket the big Austrian revels in playing comedy. Much as he did in Twins from 1988, Schwarzenegger is comfortable in making himself the butt of the jokes. With a crazy premise such as this one it was imperative that he got the feel of the comedy right, something that he achieves in spades. His play off with all the children is good fun cinema, even tender at times. For in amongst the froth the writers still slot in serious issues, issues that Schwarzenegger, in spite of his obvious lack of acting gravitas, grasps with two gigantic hands. There's no surprises in store within the plot, and I'm pretty sure for a film of this type nobody is seriously expecting any. But it is good honest fun, one for all the family to enjoy. With good support from Miller & Reed, and of course the army of sprightly children, Schwarzenegger once again doesn't take himself seriously. Hollywood, like it or not, is all the better for it. 6.5/10

After battling cyborgs, Predator, terrorists and mercenaries, Arnie faces his greatest challenge; KIDS !!! He acts as a cop in the style of Stallone in Cobra on the trail of a notorious criminal. The only way he can get to him though is via his kid..thus explaining the kindergarten.

Arnie is on the trail of Cullen Crisp, and has been for years. This trail leads him to Astoria, Oregon, and to the local elementary school to do something unbelievable--teach 5-year olds! He must protect a young boy, Dominic Palmieri, and track down Cullen. This won't be easy, with little ones all over him!

Poor Arnie is up to his ears in paint sets, screaming, toys, and whining. But when he begins to show them how to be tough, the kids begin to like him, and the feeling is reciprocal.

My favorite parts are when Arnie sees the children acting horribly, and he sreams "SHUTUP! SHUTUP! SHUTUP!" and all the kids start crying, so he runs out of the school. I felt so bad for them! another great part was the game "Who's your daddy, and what does he do?" The answers were comical (Rina and Tina: Our mom says that our dad is a real sex machine!, My dad lives in NY and drives a taxi. My mom hopes he dies real soon, Joesph: My dad is a gynecologist. He looks at vaginas all day.) This movie also had some great lines (Joesph: Boys have a penis. Girls have a vagina. Arnie: Thanks for the tip. Arnie: It's not a tuma!")

this is a great film, and the kids certainly make it memorable. I highly recommend this film to everyone! Like kindergarten, you definitely don't want to turn your back on this movie!:)
