In Arizona 1882 nothing comes easy in the bitterly unforgiving Old West except dying. Albert (Seth MacFarlane), is a soft man in hard times who really doesn't fit in. Adding to Albert's distress and feelings of inadequacy, his girlfriend (Amanda Seyfried ) leaves him for the towns moustache groomer (Neil Patrick-Harris). However, when her husband (Liam Neeson), a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his new found courage to the test.

It's '1882' Arizona......The Town - 'Old Stump'
'Albert'(Seth Macfarlane) is a lowly sheep-farmer, he's a little short on self-esteem, many look upon him as
a coward, his girlfriend 'Louise'(Amanda Seyfried) among them, she leaves him for the local 'moustache-groomer'
'Foy'(Neil Patrick-Harris)
'Albert' who hates the west feels he needs now to leave town, however, when 'Anna'(Charlize Theron) wife of
notorious outlaw 'Clinch'(Liam Neeson) rides into town she befriends 'Albert' after he, against the grain,
rescues her during a bar-room brawl.
She see's her new friend has many inadequacies, she sets out to help him find his hidden courage, along with
teaching him to use a gun after he'd foolishly challenges 'Louise's' new man 'Foy' an accomplished gunman.
'Albert's' new found courage will be put to the test when 'Anna's' husband 'Clinch' hits town.
This is certainly a very different take on a wild-west movie.
There is a bucket full of tongue-in-cheek incidents along the way and a hat-full of one-liners, it takes a while for
the comedy of the film to shine through....though very worth a glance.
Special Features -
* Deleted, extended and alternate scenes.
* Feature Commentary with Seth Macfarlane
* Gag Reel - and much more.

When you combine Seth MacFarlane with some major stars, you know pretty much what you are going to get. A crude comedy with some great scenes and a lot of scenes that don't work. This film is no different. This film is looks like it might be a spoof of the western film genre, but isn't. Its humor is from the crude anachronistic language, similar to Mel Brook's superior film "History of the World..." Some of the lines that didn't work were, "You really shouldn't drink and horse."

Perhaps the biggest downer of the film was that Seth played the lead actor instead of hiring someone like Zach Galifianakis. Now if you don't think there were a million ways to die, Albert (Seth MacFarlane) gives us a head start on the list. The crude Sarah Silverman dialogue was perhaps the funniest part of the film. I always like it when she talks dirty.

Fans of "Ted" should enjoy this film.

Parental Guide: Excessive F-bombs. Sex. Rear male nudity...with a daisy. 3 1/2 stars

Crude can be funny but there needs to be some subtelty somewhere. This was just an apparently juvenile attempt to cram as many swear words into a film as possible. No characters to care about, no plot of any interest by the time we gave up on it and nowhere near the same league as Blazing Saddles. Very disappointing!

In Arizona 1882, cowardly sheep farmer Albert Stark (MacFarlane) loses his girlfriend Louise (Seyfried) to wealthy local Moustachery owner Foy (Patrick Harris). Heart stricken, he prepares to leave Old Stump for San Francisco, but a chance encounter with new resident Anna (Theron), sparks a new love interest. However he doesn't realize she is hiding a secret, one that will lead to a shoot out to decide both their fates.

Overall A Million Ways to Die in the West is chopped full of silly, smutty, immature humor about sex, race, potty, drugs & more. It had me laughing out loud at points & raising plenty of smiles with the two very different romance stories, Western cliche's, catchy moustache song, poking fun at the time period, the many ways you can die in the West & some particularly rewarding cameos by Christopher Lloyd & Jamie Foxx paying homage to ''Back to the future'' & ''Django''. I did find that profanities were used way too much, it did enhance the gag's at times but could had been toned down a little. Not all the jokes did hit home as you could envisage tumbleweeds rolling across the screen at times, and i didn't find the drugs humor particularly funny. The special effects were well done, but they used the same gunshot routine throughout which lacked imagination, unlike the sets & backdrop etc.. which were spot on.

On the acting front, Director/Writer Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) did well in front of the camera, i couldn't really imagine anyone else playing the role, he fitted perfectly.

I thought I could enjoy some comedy over the holidays and decided on this. Wish I hadn't. Almost 2 hours of my life wasted and never to be repeated. The talents of Liam Neeson and Charliize Theron were completely wasted on this C grade movie.

As a family guy/american dad fan I was looking forward to this, especially after a friend told me it me it was the funniest film he had seen in ages. He obviously does not watch many comedy's as I found this film to be tedious, the jokes were obvious, often cringe worthy and very slow coming. The best part of the film was when Django turns up for 30 seconds at the end, I wish he would of shot everyone tarantino style not just the 1 guy he did shoot, would of actually given the film a few laughs.
