im a huge john carpenter fan and i love this movie and bought it on vhs years ago.
when i got a multi regeion player, this was one of the first titles i purchased.
to my horror when i watched it i found that alot of scenes were cut out,not just gore scenes but also pointless cuts of scenes with john carpenter and also a great scene with horror legend wes craven in a acting role.i was so disapointed by this dvd,if you really want this movie then stick to the old vhs version which is UNCUT.shame.

I am a huge John Carpenter fan, I would argue that he has made more pound for pound classics swept across different genres than any other director. For that he is numero uno for me. Add to the fact that this horror anthology also has an episode directed by Texas Chainsaw's very own Tobe Hooper and Body Bags was essential viewing for me.

John Carpenter is delighful as our host throughout the show, a really nasty morgue worker.
The first episode deals with a petrol station assistant working the nightshift who is being stalked by a serial killer. This has Carpenter all over and the fictional town is even called Haddonfield, fantastic!

The second episode is bizarre and funny. Starring Stacy Keach as a balding guy who is desperate for hair. You can imagine that he does indeed get his wish. This is so so but still passable.

The final episode is pretty good, starring Mark Hamill as a normal family man who has an accident and loses his eyesight. Because he is a professional baseball player this is the end of his career, that is until he has eye surgery. Thing is he has a killer's eye, and this makes him see and think like the killer. So ok it is over the top but Hamill gives a very chilling and surprising role, it's eassily the most scary of the three.

Body Bags if you are a fan of either director is well worth watching.

3 scary tales directed by 2 of the best Horror people in the industry. All done with great skill (The effects are really good), creates tension and suspense. The host (Carpenter) is rather funny... Watch out for R. Corman, Sheena Easton and more guest stars pop around as the film progresses. A true horror marvel in the traditions of "Creepshow" & "Tales from the Crypt". A must for all Horror buffs.

An excellent set of Short horror tales that all work well, intercut with great introductions for each By A Very ill Looking John Carpenter. It would have been nice to see this become either A TV Series or series on Video/DVD.
