A good plot, and good action... Sometimes, these
movies can be a bit all over the place, as far as plot
and story go... but there is a a very clear story here.
It is about a General Yang, of the Yang family, who
severed under the Song Dynasty, (900's AD)...

He has to go to war, and he takes his 7 sons with
him... But, a oracle has predicted how many will
return... Fate, has made a decision.

I liked this film a lot, as it keeps to simple story
telling... over all.... a good Wuxia

Great movie. Everything i love about Asian cinema is in the film. Even great acting. The main characters look like a family. Despite the discipline from the father the love and bond of them. The sense of duty and traditions look authentic. The courage and honour makes for a great story. The action is amazing, all of the seven brothers are masters of different weapons my favourite was the duel between the archers that was incredible, both the archers showed tremendous skill all through the movie. I loved it.

The story. The Yang family are protectors of the Emperor. They consist of the parents and 7 brothers. The rest of the clan is made up of soldiers. A rival empire is invading, the general leading the offensive has a personal vendetta against the Yang family. Also the 6th brother has kill the son of a rival general for the hand of the princess. Now the Yangs are going to war facing an enemy in front than also from the inside. This leads to disaster, when the General/father is captured the sons must launch a rescue mission. Going into the mission the are told 7 brothers will leave but only 6 will return. This is one one of the best films I have seen in a long time.

Great film from start to beginning saving general yang is a family affair the yang family set in 900 ad general yang is surrounded by the enemy and it is down to his five sons too rescue him and return him to his homeland on route they face all manners of danger and death the scenery is amazing the story is strong the acting is very good and the connection between family is unbreakable even after death worth a watch highly recommended.

A good story about family loyalty and courage against the back drop of the Song dynasty. I would have given it a 5 but I found some of the battle scenes a little long, but that's just a personal view.
