As a huge fan of the series since the start, I have always enjoyed how the team has changed and particularly the impact the changes have had on the way the team functions.
I was sad to see Harry leave before the 16th series, but his impact on series 15 was very good. The new characters in series 16 are very different and breathe fresh air into the series once you have tolerated the time given to their introductions at the start of the series.

The more recent series have benefitted from higher budgets, and more extreme story lines. Each episode has the signature twists and turns that keep you gripped and watching until the end. Worth watching every episode on its own merits, but even better to watch as a growing series.

I've given this superb series two stars thanks to BBC's stupidity. If you haven't watched the series yet and you're buying this collection, Beware! While Episode 1 (Death has no Dominion) shows as the first Episode on disc one, BBC have screwed up the entire running order of the rest of the series on this CD collection. The worst part of this being that the final Episode (6) in which Harry leaves the series is SECOND ON CD ONE So, if you innocently put in Disc one first, then watch disc two and three, it destroys the whole chain of events of Harry's exit from the series and leaves you wondering where the hell he went when Series 16 begins! Thanks Guys. Completely wrecked things for me. For clarification, if you want to actually watch this series in the order it should actually be in, juggle the discs and watch in the following order:

Episode 1 "Death has no Dominion" shown first.
Episode 2 "Domestic" shown fourth.
Episode 3 "Paradise Lost" shown third.
Episode 4 "Redhill" shown fifth.
Episode 5 "Fear shown" sixth.
Episode 6 "And then I fell in love" shown second.

having been a fan of silent witness since series eight, so a pretty late comer to the series, and have enjoyed every series, series 15 being delayed for release on dvd. then series 15 and 16 which we have here, the usual subtitles, english for the hard of hearing.
Series 15
has some strong episodes and a weak one,
Death Has No Dominion 10/10
A violent triple murder at a farmhouse throws up a DNA link that leads the team to a mysterious female serial killer known as 'the wraith' this two parter has a really good twist and I loved the idea.
And Then I fell in Love 9/10
Nikki stumbles across a sinister underworld of teenage prostitution while others puzzle over the corpse of a heavily tattooed man and a decomposed body. (this episode was held back a bit due to similarities to a recent case in real life)
Paradise Lost 8/10
A convicted serial killer is sending out gristly clues on the whereabouts of his undisclosed victims, Leo and Nikki must patch up there differences to outwit him. One of the weaker stories but still a good one.
Domestic 9/10
Harry is troubled when he's called to a scene of a family murder, a family he knew. an overall good episode.
Redhill 10/10
The deaths of a child-killer and a ex-prison inspector sets the team on a collision course with the institutions authorities. this is one of my fave episodes in series 15.
Fear 8/10
Leo attempts to unravel the mysterious death of a young girl who was being treated by his colleague friend, again a weaker episode found it a bit weird.

series 16
see's the exit of Harry Cunningham, which is a huge shame cos liked his character and he is missed.

I've been watching this series from the very beginning and even with the changes of main characters along the way, I thoroughly enjoy every episode in every series and I hope it keeps going for a long time!

Napalm has given us a complete breakdown of all the episods so there is no point in repitition, however the departure of Harry is a surprise and i suggest you be patient with the new guy as he is not a pathologist. He brings forensics into the series and the new format takes getting used to.

As usual the story and acting were superb, but the final episode is mind blowing. To be absolutely honest i have my doubts about future series because of major changes in personnel, but we wii just have to wait another year and see what they come up with.

Well worth the money and subtitles included!

This series from the first one is brilliant if you like a combination of murder or death mysteries & post mortem mysteries as it combines the two, all the actors play fantastic roles as morticians & detectives.

I watch these shows again and again. Emilia Fox, William Gaminara and Tom ward are magnificent together. Now with David Caves he is just the right character to play opposite Emilia.

Interesting to compare the romantic side of the Amana Burton character with that of Emilia Fox. I see that series 17 will be with all new roles.
