Product Description

A new setting breathes life into this high-octane adventure where prisoners try to earn their freedom by competing in an off road race to the death in the African desert outside Kalahari Desert Maximum Security Prison.

During his stay at the Terminal Island Prison, Carl Lucas has secretly transformed himself into the celebrated Frankestein: winner of three death races broadcast live around the world. Now having won his fourth race, Lucas finds himself just one victory away from earning freedom for himself and his pit crew. Weyland, the owner of the company behind the Death Race broadcasts, has big ideas about taking the Death Race out of the prison and into foreign venues.

The rules of this adrenaline-fuelled blood sport continue to be simple, drive--or die. Strap yourself in for an insane thrill-ride!

Frankenstein (Luke Goss) is up for his final race for his freedom. In a hostile take over Weyland (Ving Rhames) has sold the company which sponsors the races to Niles York (Dougray Scott) an immediately unlikeable person. Niles plans to franchise Death Race around the globe, but to have an audience he needs Frankenstein. Frankenstein is given the ultimatum by Niles: Lose or Die.

The race takes place in South Africa through friendly and unfriendly shanty towns as well as desert. Frankenstein races against people who would rather see him dead than win the race. Names like: Razor, Nero, Joker, Pretty Boy, Olga, and Psycho. Prior to the race the female navigators are placed in a caged death match as 16 Xena looking/dressed women fight each other until 10 are left.

There is a quick flashback to explain Frankenstein, but it is short. The film has plenty of inane "explode on contact" action, racing, hot babes and a twist. Break out the popcorn.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, brief sex and nudity.

Only one victory away from winning freedom for himself and his pit crew, Lucas is plunged into an all-new competition more vicious than anything he has experienced before.

Pitted against his most ruthless adversaries, Lucas fights to keep himself and his team alive in a race in South Africa's infernal Kalahari Desert.

With powerful forces at work behind the scenes to ensure his defeat, will Lucas' determination to win at all costs mean the end of the road for him....

The Death Race movies are the marmite of film franchises, and much like Paul W.S Anderson, you either love them or hate them.

But with these films, you have diminished expectations, so matter how bad the film is, you get some enjoyment from it.

Goss is back as the cheap Statham, even though he has more screen appeal than him, and is joined by an array of B movie stars.

Dougray Scott buys the franchise from Rhames so he can buy more hats, and this is the films biggest problem, Scott is awful and plays the billionaire villain right down to the last letter. it's literally a cringe worthy performance and brings the film down.

The rest of the film is cars smashing into shanty towns, and Goss growling something to Trejo and the annoying little one, with lots of eye candy to stop males thinking about the plot holes.

It's a load of rubbish, with a silly twist at the end, but I loved every minute of it, thanks to the brain washing edits and silly explosions.

See it, and then come on here and lie to everyone about how much you hate it.

You cheeky monkey.

This is in chronological order pt 2 realy, so it should be DEATH RACE 2, DEATH RACE 3 & then the Statham DEATH RACE,,,, dont worry it explains everything at the end & leaves it rght for the Statham DEATH RACE to start !. "GO NOW & BUY ITS A WORTHY ADDITION TO THE SERIES"

You can't really criticise this series, you know exactly what to expect. Ridiculous customised cars, lots of guns and explosions, wacky races and impossibly gorgeous female convicts. And that is exactly what you get with the added bonus of seeing Tanit Phoenix naked in the unrated version and yes she is beautiful. Switch off your brain, turn up the volume and enjoy.
