Film set in a Romanian Village although it really looks like a Hollywood film set. Wrote by Hiroshi Takahashi, author of the Ring Trilogy and directed by Fruit Chan of Dumplings fame tells the story of a film director who has apparition experiences. Its a little different from most modern horror films as it has an old fashioned story line. In the past a gypsy girl does a deal with the gypsy devil, if she can have the most powerful husband then her first born girl will raise the devils child. But however, she killed her first born so the devil is still waiting, and members of the film crew start dying.
There is nothing extreme here, the gore is simple: tongue snipping and eyeball poking, but it is a decent, mild tame old fashioned horror that feels like a shortened version wouldn't be out of place in a horror anthology.

I bought this as a used version, which is good because it is such a poor film. I was so disappointed. Don't buy, unless you want to see low budget, predictable, nonsense and I wouldn't even say it was a horror!:/

I bought this because Eli Roth was associated with it. I loved his work with Cabin Fever and Hostel so got my hopes up. He's only in it for about 5 minutes and the rest of the film is confusing. A real let down.

This film was absolutely terrible, in fact I can't remember the last time I saw anything so bad. The awful acting - I'm sure I've watched better performances in school plays, and I mean primary school- was complimented by the inconsistent/nonexistent storyline. It was not scary, in fact my husband and I laughed out loud in a few places, although this was probably the shock of actually paying to watch this- and I use the term in the loosest possible sense- film.
Overall I feel that I have been robbed not only of the money but the 2 hours of my life that I will NEVER get back. I would rather have been asleep. I have had to give a one star as I can't give it no stars.
