This movie was first released in 1966(1991)2012, in Technicolour, Widescreen 2.35.1 and runs 102 minutes. The sound and picture quality are very good. The extra is 27 minutes interview with Clint Walker(2012). The film starts when Big Jim Cole(CLINT WALKER), leaving his lawman's life in Utah territory and heads with his family to become a rancher, surrounded by beautiful countryside. His wagon arrives at the Hope town, Wyoming and the bank. Jim and Angela Cole(MARTHA HYLER) enter the bank and meet Cotton Benson(REGIS TOOMEY), the bank manager, who says that they had inherited a nice piece of property. But Jim's grand dad had forgotten to tell them about the $500 loan and interest. Cotton tells Jim that Jed Curry(KEENAN WYNN) wanted their land back very badly. Jed meets Jim and his wife Angela, finds that they had paid the loan off and becomes disappointed. Arriving at the ranch, the family find the buildings derelict and needing a lot of work. Jim consoles Angela, that it was their home and the land was good. Jim wanted more cattle and kids. Sam Potts(DON HAGGERTY), Jim's deputy in old days, helps them. Cotton arrives at the ranch and warns Jim about the 'Satan', big grizzly bear, who would now in April, will be coming out of hibernation, and usually kills for the fun of it. Soon Jed Curry arrives with his boys, offering to buy the ranch and the land. Jim and Angela had no intention in selling. In town, Hank(JACK ELAM) agrees to show Jim places where he could buy some stock. Hazel Squires(ELLEN CORBY) agrees to sell cows, hogs and chickens. Just then, they find a dead cow and large paw marks. Hazel says that, that was Satan's job. Angela was also worried about Cass Dowdy(LEO GORDON), an outlaw, whom Jim had once sent to prison.Read more ›

I recently was delighted to have bought this great wee western,Clint Walker has always been a big favourite of mine, from his Cheyenne days, now, the product,it,s an excellent blu-ray,picture quality is GREAT,sound too,for any fans of this film,blu-ray is the only way to watch it,a MUST-BUY,and,it,s region free!!!!!
The film itself, well, truth be told,it,s from an age gone by,a totally innocent western, similar to Disney westerns,GREAT Family viewing.
I first seen it a LONG time ago,and I wondered if "the grizzly scenes" would look dated, well,I was wrong, they look more than fine,a credit to the people who restored/remastered Night of the Grizzly,an excellent blu-ray.
Last wee thing,Clint Walker has always been The Man,but in this western we have Thee BAD MAN,Leo Gordon, what a great bad guy he always was,Leo being in this western is a BONUS.

One of my favourite Clint Walker films. A good supporting cast with good old Jack Elam, Regis Toomey, Leo Gordon (all 3 seen in dozens of westerns) Martha Hyer, Keenan Wynn, Ron Ely (Tarzan)...........great 60's entertainment. Watch the 2012 interview with CLINT WALKER!

The picture's ok, the sound's ok with a few glitches.
The bear attacks aren't bad but the rest is pretty grizzly.
For fans only.
The CLINT WALKER interview is great.
