Product Description

Product Description

There's only one action legend that could ever star in a sequel to a Bruce Lee movie and get away with it and he is Jackie Chan.

In this follow-up to the screen sensation that was Fist of Fury (also directed by Lo Wei), we see a young Jackie take up the fight against another Japanese martial arts school hell-bent on crushing rival Chinese academies in Taiwan. Only problem is at the outset, he's no match against multiple fighters, so that means we get the bonus of watching him endure gruelling training before he heads out to dispense justice!

Here's a chance to catch Jackie Chan in his formative years fighting his way through a tougher, bloodier and more vengeance-filled role than we've become used to seeing him play. This time there's no more Mr Nice Guy!

Special Features:

- Fully restored and remastered digital transfer
- Super bitrate encoding for optimum visual presentation
- Dual Language Format (English 5.1 , Mandarin 5.1, & Mandarin Mono audio tracks with re-mastered English subtitles)
- Aspect ratio 16:9

the thing that this film got wrong, was in attempting to make jackie chan into the next bruce lee. chan simply can't play characters that are hard-bitten and vengeful. that is why chan became a huge name in martial arts comedies. in "new fist of fury," he isn't even the centre of attention and he still gets top billing.
also, the plot of this film is woeful. director lo wei hasn't got much clue in how to instruct his cast and it shows on the screen.
the running time on the back of this dvd claims to be 105 minutes. that is incorrect as the real time is actually 78 minutes!
there are one or two fight scenes that are mildly diverting and add something to this shambling mess of a film.
there isn't much reference to the original fury film from 1972, except a brief mention of bruce lee's character by nora miao.
only buy this one if you are either a completist of jackie chan or of hong kong cinema.

Not one of Jackie's best films, basically cashing in on Bruce Lee's Fist Of Fury. Chan is Lee's brother who known nothing about martial arts, but Circumstances force him to learn! A Japanese martial arts school is trying to force all the other schools to obey them. Some agree but Chans does not. They all get invited to a meeting which is a trap! They have to fight to the death or yield to the japanese. Basically continuing the first Fist of Fury story. Still it was worth watching!
