Martin is a mentally disturbed loner who lives with his mother in a bleak housing project.

He works the night shift as a security guard in an equally grim and foreboding underground parking complex.

To escape his dreary existence, Martin loses himself in the fantasy world of the cult horror film The Human Centipede.

Fantisising over the meticulous surgical skills of the gifted Dr. Heiter, whose knowledge of the human gastrointestinal system inspires Martin to attempt the unthinkable.....

Well we finally have it, This generations Cannibal Holocaust.

The film is wrong, it's every aspect of wrong, but it's a movie, out to shock, and it does it's job very, very well.

I wasn't a fan of the first movie, it was boring and slow, but this film (with it's new nightmare connotation) could never be called boring, as the main character is just so interesting.

Harvey must have known he was being cast, mainly thanks to his grotesque physique, and it's to his credit, as this is the most disgusting, sad character that I have ever seen on screen.

He was abused as a child (something I believe Six put in the film sarcastically) and is ridiculed by everyone. In fact, nearly every character in this film is disgusting.

But the ultimate goal of this film is to shock, and believe me when I say, it does. It's filmed in Black and White, and makes the film feel cold and dirty, thus making you feel bad.

I'm not a squeamish person, but this really did take it's toll on me, and I don't just mean the parts that have been cut. but characters, and the scenes with the victims are just sometimes too hard to watch.

Somehow, this film has not only managed to be disgusting and ridiculous but also hilarious.

The story this time around focuses on a mentally impaired individual named Martin who is obsessed with The Human Centipede and watches endlessly. He even has his own Human Centipede scrapbook that he has lovingly crafted.

Not only is Martin obsessed and fascinated with the image/idea of a human centipede he is also sexually aroused by it.

Now, I'm not going to go into too much detail regarding the events of the movie, but if what I've already written (and what you may already of heard) about the movie sounds ridiculous, that's because it is.

In my opinion the movie is intentionally ridiculous and over the top. It is afterall, about someone who watches a movie and then goes out and copies what they saw occuring on the screen.
The majority of us know that is a ridiculous notion, but censorship groups and the like will often state that a movie is 'damaging' to the general public because 'the events depicted could be copied by someone in real life.'
This just shows how ridiculous that notion is.

The film is shot in black and white and the performances are good, especially from Laurence R. Harvey as the disturbed Martin. He portrays the charcter with a clever mixture of psychosis and childlike glee. His performance is particularly good as the character doesn't say a word throughout the entire movie.

For those (like myself) who thought that the surgery scene in the first film needed to be more graphic, then you will not be dissapointed this time around. Although Martin's medical skills leave a lot to be desired, he is afterall a security guard and not a surgeon.

Also upping the disgusting stakes...

while just getting into film it is at first disgusting--no other word for it--but once over the initial revulsion you can see it as a work of art--then it shines. It is a film born in evil States/societies where humans damage one another and the world--a world of emotional disturbance caused by the horrible societies too many humans create--in this societal cesspit so much can go wrong and it is a potential breeding ground for filth like human centipede ideas to develop in. Harvey does a brilliant job in portraying this disturbed and damaged world--but its central message must serve as a society warning--for if society thrives as a living hellhole where its members become damaged in it then beware of what can result from it. One other thing i'm sure of--if humans built serenity societies rather than hellhole societies ideas like the human centipede series would never take of--hellhole societies are a perfect breeding ground for this kind of a thing--leaving so many damaged in it--which can and does happen to any of us--perhaps also the film shows a possible way of punishing societies so evil child abuse and elderly abuse become rampant in it and lead on to a multitude of other horrible abuses and corruptions. BUT AFTER SEEING FILM WATCH SOMETHING SERENE LIKE WATERFALLS. Float off into a world of serenity--you will need to.

I'm really not sure whether this is the worst movie ever made or not but it sure as hell comes close. The story is vile, the acting abysmal and the idea of any of it is worse than laughable. Whereas the first was a shocker and was hard to swallow, this looks like it was made to shock but fails miserably on all levels simply thanks to its own incompetence. Each time you think it couldn't get more inane, it manages it with flying colours. How anyone was allowed to make this is difficult to understand. Completely idiotic, terribly constructed, characters you want dead as soon as you meet them and a director so deranged he should be locked away somewhere dark and far from any sort of camera.
If you value your sanity then steer clear of this. If you stomach it for long, you'll wish you hadn't and however many minutes you follow it for, you will never get them back. It really is your loss. The single star is just for managing to focus the camera. While watching this, you'll wonder why they bothered. It really becomes too annoying to stay with. Impossible to recommend and I can't do enough to advise against watching it. Simply awful!
