Wow! Just wow! This is easily one of the best boxsets that's been released in the UK this year. It's just great! Shaped just like a Bigbox VHS, in keeping with the film's relation to the Video Nasties scandal of the 80s, it really does stand out in a dvd collection as a thing of beauty! I'm a big fan of VHS; the bulky boxes and the incredible artwork add something to the package of a film that a Blu-Ray or a download lacks. So when I first heard of this DVD boxset, I couldn't wait to get it, and it doesn't disappoint! The box even has a Be Kind Rewind sticker on it! Genius! 10/10 for the package here.

As for the films, those too are top notch! Included here are three films. Whilst calling them 'Slashers' and 'Nasties' is a little bit of a stretch (they're not your typical hack 'n' slash fare, nor were all of these banned as on the DPP's list of 39 titles), that doesn't really matter as the films on other are brilliant slices of Italian exploitation that any horror/cult/exploitation film fan would love! The three films included here are...

1) TORSO - one of the greatest of all the gialli this one. In my opinion, this film is probably the weakest of the set. It's a little slow, but if you're patient you'll be paid of handsomly. This film is often held up high by fans of gialli and it's easy to see why. Although not quite as enjoyable as Fulci or Agento's gialli, it's still a very involving film. 6/10.

2) NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS - Now we're talking! Ever seen Wes Craven THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and felt that it could've been better? Well, here's your answer. NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS is one of the many Italian cash-ins based on Craven's notorious (and banned) film, but it is surprising head and shoulders above the film its trying to rip-off.Read more ›

These films are OK. Very old school, not up to the standards of modern film making. Interesting films though - but not enough gore for me. There are the odd moments during the films that are a bit cringe-worthy, resulting in the films being rated '18'. But they are pretty tame for this rating.
